Hi FT Community. First time poster from New Zealand here. I am a considering an implant. Aged 33, with Ed since a biking injury at the age of 16. MRI results from 2011 (age 21) picked up scarring in the perennial area affecting the neurovascular structures. I've had limited success with pills, and caverject; however these induced erections are relatively weak erections, and are very difficult to maintain during sex.

It has taken me a while to accept that an implant is probably the best (only) option which is going to give good quality erections going forward. I would be keen to connect with others from the area and get advice about the surgical implant options.

Hi guys just thought I'd join the chat. I've read so much pre and post op my implant and found it so helpful that I felt obliged to post my story and offer any help there's not much UK or NHS help also so thought that I could answer any UK guys questions aswell as our American friends.

Used pregablin for my nerve damage a few years back and it stopped me ejaculated (have never been able to regain this back) and used all ED tablets and pump and injections prior to implant.

I'm 4 week post op just nearly a week into cycling. Happy so far but obviously want to increase back to my old length and my position of my pump is WAY off so would be nice to know if anyone else had a bad pump position and if so how was it fixed? Its functional so I'm happy but alot of people talk about using penile pumps which I have one from the previous ED treatment. Can/ should I use it it post op? If so how often and how long?
I can't seem to deflate fully either so always half mast and would love to have a fully deflated penism have tried in nd out the bath amd even the nurse/consultant hasn't been able to achieve a flaccid deflate so far but still soon after my op.

My surgery went a little badly as my consultant didn't see me pre OR post op and had a bad time as was kept in the ward for 4 days and went home erect and lack of info but now finally getting somewhere. Healed and cycling just the positioning is bad for now so would love help on that.

Happy to post pics and answer questions to me new adopted bionic brothers.

Thanks for taking the time to read this please feel free to dm or ask any questions and offer any help. As I said Happy to provide any pics flaccid or erect for helping me figure out my pump position etc.

I don't understand these doctors when I read about them not following up with implant patients for days after their surgery. Don't they realize what these men have gone through for years, and the decisions they've had to make to regain their manhood, and manly status? They blow off their patients why? It doesn't take a lot to act like a human being, but they seem to have difficulty with it. Doctors, put yourselves in these men's position, weren't you taught common courtesy and bedside manners?
Retired 65 y.o. Married. Moderate ED since 2019. Use constriction band ocassionately to help maintain erection, or Cialis/Viagra. Nocturnal/morning erections returning with VED usage. Lower libido than before.

AMEN brother. That's what I went and am going through I wouldnt even call it post op care and there was none. Have been left to the wolves. Was discharged by a junior doctor after a 4 day stay in hospital and no sign ore or post op feon the doc. The only helpful people seem to be the ED nurses

I think it's about $$$ (or £££). My surgeon, whom is also my urologist, was quite dismissive of my questions and concerns both before surgery and afterward when I thought my implant might have been short-sized. A doctor cannot learn compassion (aka "bedside manner") from a book. It has to be part of the person's makeup to begin with.
