Struggling with recent 3 price penile implant, Need feedback

Postby Alan67 » Sat May 28, 2022 6:00 pm

I had the surgery for the AMS implant almost 6 weeks ago. My right side in the groin and abdomen area is sore and it has been for most of this time. Some days are better than others. It's particularly tender where the tube runs up to the resevior (on that same right side). It's generally not serious pain but it's uncomfortable and it's made worse by my fear that it's not getting better. My penis will also be sore on that side too but not too bad. I have been pretty physically active in recent weeks but not alot of heavy lifting. I use a weed eater. I'm sure I've lifted 20 or 30 pounds at different times. I have masturbated 3 times with increased discomfort that this. Can someone tell me if this is normal? I'm getting nervous because alot of the medical information had stated that any soreness would be gone in 4 to 6 weeks. But I have alot of soreness in that right lower abdomen area. Please help with advice or your experience at almost 6 weeks in. Thanks, Alan

My only pain or discomfort after I finished healing was also where the tubing goes up to the reservoir. I've never had a hernia, but I'd imagine the pain would be similar.
It did go away, but I'm not sure how long it took.

Hey thank you. Also, I can feel that tube that goes up to the reservoir. I assume, (or hope) that is normal?

At 6 weeks, you are still recovering. It takes some of us 3 or 4 months to get back to regular life. It is normal to feel sore specially if you are performing some sport activities. You need to be patient with the new device. Try to take rest for 2 days and see if you still feel sore. You will be able to figure out the causes.

Lets see if I understand your situation. You've heard that after 6 weeks that you should be mostly pain free. Lets look this over. Those that recovered in 6 weeks most likely followed their doctors instructions where you, on the other hand admit to not following instructions. But you want the same relief from discomfort as them.
Am I missing any key points in your story?

To gt1956, I very much hope you're right. I hope I'm just being too active. Im going to modify that but I want to stress I haven't been doing any strenuous lifting. Thank you for your feedback.

My doc was a man of few words.
He gave me no instructions after surgery at all except to come back in 3 weeks for activation.
I played golf and helped a friend re-roof his house in less than a month.
I suppose I did take it a little easy doing all that.
I'll have to revisit my journal to see if I have this right though.

Despite my harsh tone. I do feel for your position. I use a weed eater on a fairly large lot. I think the swinging side to side would be a killer. Also, even tho they're on the light side, I suspect they're over 20 pounds. But consider this. The cutting head is several feet away from you. That multiplies the weight. Then at the end of each swing your mid section has to stop & reverse that weight. Several times a minute.

I am 12 weeks post surgery, Coloplast Titan. I have been inflating daily and some days multiple times. The soreness and pain associated with my implant is getting better daily. I suffered ED for about 3 years and lost about 2" of penile length and 1" in girth. I was pumping to the max prior to my surgery. Gaining both length and girth from prior pumping days (filling the pump 3/4 full in length and maxing out the girth). Post surgery I have neither recovered much length or girth. Pump, exercise and pump another pump or two until uncomfortable. My urologist said it would continue to expand and stretch for a year after the procedure. When I deflate I can feel kinks/knots where the implant has wrinkled. Those wrinkles go away when inflated. I also assume they may go away if my penis lengthens.

No matter if it grows or not, it is better having a usable erection and to having a limp dick. My wife has had multiple orgasms since we started having sex again. Hopefully she will go from being a snapping turtle to a purring kitten again.
