How long before inflating?
How long before inflating?
It’s been about 5 weeks since I’ve had an ams 700 installed and at the appt a week after the doc said not to start inflating until he gave the go ahead though my appt isn’t for another 3 weeks. Is this normal? Also is there anything I should be doing? Today I woke up and my sack is sore out of nowhere.

Welcome to the site.
Doctors are different and so are we. Sometimes there are very good reasons not to start cycling (inflatting and deflating also called activation). You need to contact your doctor. Activation can be as early as 3 days and some doctors use 8 weeks and of course in-between and rare cases take even longer. Best to talk with your doctor on this as it is you that is being treated and not someone else.
Good luck .

Re: How long before inflating?
As others have said, all doctors and patients are different and although we have all had the same surgery, different techniques may have been used and the health and well being of each patient is not going to be equal.
I am 4 weeks post op, and although i was given the green light to begin cycling at week 2 i have struggled deflating and have therefore not yet begun cycling.
I personally, do not believe there is much of a difference between cycling after 3 days or 8 weeks , as long as you aggressively cycle once allowed to for the first year.

Do what your doctor says. I chose a doctor partially on the idea that his patients healed quickly and were able to activate quickly, based on the procedure he used. I was activated and started cycling regularly on day 8 from surgery. I know others that go 6 weeks before activation. Different surgical processes make an impact, as do the anatomy and activity of different patients.
My surgeon told me as I left the hospital to start pulling gently down on the pump once in a while and to try to start feeling for the deflate button, as well. So by the time day 8 came the pump was right where he wanted it and I clearly knew how to find the deflate button. There's a lot of extra fluids and junk in the sack after surgery and it can be difficult to find the right pieces. He told me I could go home and he didn't need to see me again that same day of activation. He also told me that of the 5 guys he'd had activation appointments with that morning I was the only one that had progressed that far. So follow your doctor's orders as closely as possible. He has a plan that includes your health, your progress, and your soon to be hard dick in mind.
