Counselling

Postby helloworld » Thu Mar 10, 2022 2:23 pm

Hi folks, I hope you're well.

I am about to start psychotherapy, to help me navigate the ED issues and my upcoming appointments to discuss options (and whatever comes next).

I wanted to know if any of you found this approach useful pre and post operation.

Besides the pains and the surgery, I guess the impact of having an implant in such a previous part of the body is not minimal, so the head would have to take some time to accommodate.

Thoughts?

Well to get an implant, I would venture to say that all of us have had some issue of one sort of another to get past, so do whatever will support your decision.
75, used pills, injections -- all lost effectiveness. Titan implanted by Eid in Feb '22.

It mostly depends on your situation, age, if you have long term ED, if you have tried orals, inyection. Are you married? Is your ED due to some psicological factors or it is purely the age, blood pressure, anxiety, high level of blood sugar (diabetes)...
Once we will know more about from where you are coming than we will be better prepared to share experiences that are similar to yours. At the end it is your decision, if you feel that you need counseling, then go with it.

To be honest I never gave it a though. Once I found out about an implant that could give me a hard dick, I immediately researched docs. Found one and had it done as soon as possible. No more peyronies. No more pills. Just pump up and go.

When a surgeon fixing a hernia ruptured my saline bag 10 months later. Immediately hot scheduled for a replacement.

I have no issues with the implant period.

I was a wreck before though. Peyronies. 90 degree curve dick if it ever got hard. It took a max dose of pills to get me to a semi erect state.

Once implanted never gave it another thought. Travel all you want. Do pretty much whatever you want. Have sex as long as you want as many times as you want. To me this is a no brainer.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.

Thanks for sharing your experiences folks.

I'm 36 years old and single. I had ED issues for several years that I consider have become severe (at this point I don't have nocturnal / morning erections). I don't know the reason and never been properly diagnosed, as most urologists told me it was psychological.

Regarding implant: my biggest fear is size loss. I was 5 / 5.5 before ED, and now I am about 1 inch less. I wanted to know if I could potentially get closer to my original size? I don't have Peyronie's as far as I know.
I checked T recently and i came back very low. My GP is investigating by doing MRIs, blood tests, etc.

I have a good job in a tech company, which is very demanding, and all these decisions are really draining me.
Feelings like:

- What if I end up going for surgery and I end up having a dick that's not even good enough for sex?
- How are potential partners going to react to the fact of not only ending up having a smaller dick, but also an implant???

On the other hand, I don't want to rush into things to avoid losing my mind, and I don't know how traumatic the surgery will end up being for my mental state.

I was hoping to meet Dr Eid on Wednesday, but my appointment was postponed for 2 weeks, which didn't help to calm me down. Maybe he'll be able to offer some peace / hope of mind when I see him?

Thank you.

Welcome! Do you ever sleep with a partner and can you get erections then? Not promoting it, but if you watch porn can you get an erection? If those answers are no my guess is it's not a psychological issue. When you see Dr Eid in the office my guess is he'll probably check your T level and do a doppler. Make sure to tell him in detail how long you've had issues and how it's affecting your mental state. He'll be able to answer any questions you have. Don't be shy asking because he's heard it all before.
As far as the implant itself, no matter what length you end up with it will get erect. There are things you can do before the implant to stretch your penis. As far as a partner, if it gets that serious you'll know when to tell them about it. The best thing I like about my implant is no more guessing if I should take a pill tonight OR getting warmed up in bed then have to hop out and go inject. If I get to bed and my wife wants sex, it takes just a few seconds to be ready.
Good Luck

I am just 48 hours post surgery and I made a lot of researches before becoming Bionic.
I second @Old Guy comments and I would underline that there is zero risk that you end up with a non functional dick after a surgery performed by somebody like Dr Eid. I especially like his penoscrotal incision that is giving him an edge compared to surgeons performing a simpler, for them, infrapubic incision.
I was a grower and 48 hours only after my surgery I can admire a fully erected penis that is not even pumped to 70% at this stage, let image what it will be when I will be able to pump it up to the maximum...
Provided that you perform a proper VED routine before the surgery for at least 2 months, you should be able to get back to your original size, pre ED. However it may take up to 12 months before you get your original size back, because you will have to perform implant cycling which will stretch the skin around the implant and the implant itself to its maximum extent.

Thanks so much for the replies guys,

@Old Guy: I really hope he can give me some peace of mind. I have visited so many doctors, an none of them committed enough to find the source of my problem. At this point, I can hardly get an erection when masturbating (with stimulation), and it fades very quickly. As mentioned, no nocturnal / morning erections either. If he can perform some tests in my first visit that would be great.

@TheCanalGuy: It's very encouraging to know about your experience. Did you have any shrinkage due to ED and were you able to get closer to your original size by pumping? I'll ask the doctor for advise on this topic too.

Yes I had severe shrinkage due to the lack of natural erections, not even nocturnal. My whole thing was looking much smaller than what I was used to. Most probably at least 1 inch or more of shrinkage. However I was even exceeding my orignal size when using VED, with about 2 months continuous routine I hit 18.5cm within the pump. After surgery they measured it at 17cm which based on other reviews would easily expand to 18.5cm. So I am extremely happy of the results and I was very concerned before because when not erected it was not more than 10cm possibly less and the stretch test was no near close to 17cm. In other words, with proper preparation you can exceed even the manual stretch test and you can easily get back you original size BUT only if you are with the right surgeon. For example, in my case the surgeon found plenty of tissue fibrosis, a non experienced surgeon would have put a much smaller implant because the extra difficulty, mine has cleared the tissue fibrosis and manged to fit the larger Titan XL that my anatomy could stand.
