I had a drainage tube for 48 hours after surgery. I was lucky in that I had no significant pain, swelling of the scrotum or bruising and a quick recovery. Judging by the volume collected in the drainage bottle I think I would have been very swollen if that fluid had been retained until naturally absorbed. I would also think that draining the fluid might reduce the possibility of post op infection.

Mine was removed 3 days post surgery.
Taz told me to put something heavy on incision area, 20 minutes every hour or so.
I had bruising - testicles and penis. Both went away in less than 2 weeks.
Implanted 5.25.21 Coldplast, 24cm. Dr Tajkarimi.

Sent home with a drain bag after out patient implant. Had to empty it 4-5 times in 18 hours time. Removed it the next morning but probably should have waited another several hours as my swelling got bad. Between that bag and the catheter they were driving me crazy!

Went home with drain. Basically emptied it between4 and 6 times daily.

Went back to doctor after 3 days, he removed drain.

I bruised BAD. But I had only a little bit of swelling and never any real pain. I was sore for several days. Bruising was fading by a week, and completely gone after two.

The only thing I thought out of the ordinary was the area right above my dick, I guess you’d call it the pubic fat pad, was real hard and was the last of the swelling to go away. Then again, my procedure was done infrapubic so that might be what you’d expect.

I was encouraged to start cycling some on day 3 and by the end of two weeks to be pumping it up a lot. I had some trouble at first getting the pump to cooperate, it wasn’t in an ideal
Location, then one morning I woke up and it was right where the doctor told me it was supposed to be.

Only after the fat pad swelling went away and the area didn’t seem aquite so hard was I able to get some bone pressed measurements to see how much length I lost in this grand experiment. It was an inch at 3. Months, and yeah I griped to the doctor. He said keep cycling. I thought “yeah right” but a year later I’m 1/4” shorter than before surgery and couldn’t be more pleased. Best trade off I ever made. I’m thinking that part of that quarter inch is glans rigidity and anyhow, my before measurements were all made with a whopping dose of trimix.

But back to the drain. No big deal. The things seem to work. They reduce swelling and might reduce infection risk. I didn’t have much swelling and didn’t get infected. At this point in time I don’t even think of it as unusual that I have to pump to get an erection. In my younger days it wasn’t unusual to have to do a little stroking or shaking to get a boner started. Sueeing that bulb falls into the same category of erection prep.

Had a drainage tube overnight, was taken out before I left the hospital. No complications or trouble. The tube came out through a separate hole in my abdomen, a little to the left of the surgery cut (infrapubic). The doctor put surgical glue on both openings and it held until after it had healed. Can't see a scar from that, and very little scarring from the surgery itself.

Last 3 implants, I spent the night in the hospital with a drain. Drain was removed the next morning before discharge. Remarkably little swelling compared with first (botched) implant as outpatient surgery.

4 implants, shrinkage, blah, blah blah......IT'S WORTH IT!!!!

Good luck man!

I had a JP drain tube post op and lasted little over two long weeks. Of course, my procedure was not standard and the surgeon had to fight with a substantial amount of fibrinous material left over from a 16 dot placation from a Peyronies correction. The JP can out of the right side scrotum and attached to drain bulb. It was annoying as F**K and constantly worrying about pulling it out. When sleeping and showing I had to be very careful where I put the bulb. I was draining on the average of 40 to 50 cc's daily and the Dr wouldn't pull it until I was below 20cc's. When he finally pulled it, that was a great day. Wishing you the luck with yours.

Side note,
With the huge amount of swelling and bruising that I had, I would have preferred a drain. Swelling(shaft and scrotum) lasted almost 4 + weeks.
It wasn't fun.
