I usually say "urological surgery in 2017". If they press for details, I say, it is a rather personal thing, I would prefer to tell the doctor directly if that is OK with you. They will almost certainly drop it at that point, unless they deem it is relevant to know, in which case you will then just answer their questions directly saying you had a penile implant.

I agree with others that IPP is too specialized and will just lead to followup questions.

Frankly, although they are professionals, I do not think they need to know gory details about your penis (unless of course they are doing something in your pelvis and are in a need to know mode.

Thanks Guys, I think I have my approach:
1) I had Urology surgery in 2020.
If pressed for more..
2) Penile implant
if pressed for more
3) Say AHHHHHH

Do you have your AMS card? If not you can go to the AMS site and get one sent to you. Fill it out and carry it with you. Works well in when we get back to lots of folks at the check in desk for a doctor and being asked where a lot of strangers can hear. Just pull the card out and hand it to the person. Or take a sheet with all your surgeries in with the date. Like tonsillectomy, appendix, ect.

Bostonm Scientific could afford to send out plastic cards that are permanent things with serial number and type of implant you had. The paper cards you write on with ink pen will last about a year in my wallet. Mine is Almost in two now! Come on AMS YOU CAN BEAT THIS!

My card isn't paper, but plastic. It is matte finish so I can write on it. It had the labels for each item that was implanted, barcode and name of component on each label.

Funny story (now, not then) over twenty years ago when I was newly lost in the peyronies hell. I went in for my monthly opt. with Uro, New young gal at the window..."what is your opt regarding?" I say shyly Peyronies disease she looks puzzled turns around and shouts " CLAIR.. WHATS PERRONIES DISEASE!? " at 46 and so embarrassed and made me feel like shit.
I have (for now) decided to tell know one, I may later I want to see how it goes, My new Uro advised it to be the best course in the beginning. So Im having a Hernia operation in March.

Thanks all cbinspok

Nowadays, that would be a glaring HIPPA violation. :(
