Traction Device
Traction Device
I will be getting an implant in the next 6 months. I have been diagnosed with peyronies Disease. I tried everything possible with no results. Since I have a few months before surgery has anyone used a traction device before surgery to restore length and how much lenght did u gain. Also if I gain 1 inch in length will that help me in implant lenght
Re: Traction Device
I have seen Dr. Levine at Rush in Chicago for evaluation of my Peyronies. He recommended using traction prior to having any surgery - including implant surgery. Here is a link to one of the studies he has run, which is a very small sample of patients but shows promising results:

Here is another more recent article in the Journal of Translational Andrology & Urology by Dr. Levine that that goes into much more depth:

While these articles don't suggest that traction is a miracle cure for peyronies ... it does appear to reduce curvature, increase length, and increase girth.

Re: Traction Device
Thanks for your reply. I've been using Restorex for 8 weeks now and gained about 1/2 inch. No results on curvature but I still have a ways to go
Re: Traction Device
I got my implant just over a year ago. My doctor suggested 2 months of regular VED use and to add traction if I could. So I did both. I'd had many years of atrophy with no erections at all for at least 6 years, and only occasional, trimix induced erections for over 10 years before that. YMMV.
I haven't had Peyronies, so my use of both VED and traction was solely for stretching tissues to allow a longer implant. Others might be able to give you better info about how it could help with Peyronies.
VED: He wanted me to use the VED four times every day for at least 20 minutes each. I did 2x per day for a month and a half before he told me to increase to 4x, then 1.5 months I did 4 times per day. The initial growth, during the first few weeks, was definitely the most. I gained about an inch inside the VED tube during those first 3 weeks. Growth slowed a LOT after that, but I got to a total of about an inch and a half inside the VED tube. Girth also increased dramatically, and I fully "packed" my first tube. I had to purchase a bigger tube for the last month or so. Grade: A+. Very happy with the result. I had a regimen I used after talking with other people here. It got old after a while but I'd for sure do it again. Remember that your size in the VED is not likely to be replicated by your implanted dick, regardless of how much you inflate. The VED pulls in other tissues and leaves you longer and fatter than natural. If only it were permanent . . .
Traction: I started rather late trying to use traction, and I'd already had most of the gains from the VED. I didn't feel like traction was helping at all. With the research I've done, it would appear that traction is good if you've got at least 6 months to use it. Knowing what I know now, I wish I'd started traction about a year before the surgery. That said, given how bad my ED was, I'm glad I didn't wait for a year to do the implant.
Grade: unknown, but might be good with more time. I've certainly heard that traction is recommended to help with Peyronies.
I hope this helps. I'd be glad to discuss it with you if you want. Just drop me a PM.

Re: Traction Device
Mike,
Half an inch in 8 weeks sounds pretty good ... do the math, you get 2 inches in 8 months !?
How long are you wearing the traction each day to achieve that result?
