Good, inexpensive Compounding Pharmacy that can ship to Florida (or Alabama)

Postby QuantumSoul » Fri Feb 09, 2018 3:20 pm

There's only one compounding pharmacy that will make injectables within 50 miles and they are god awful. I paid nearly $200 for 5ml of bimix.

I read all the praises for Talon, but they were not licensed or could not ship to Florida for some reason. I ended up using a forwarding service/mailbox and had it overnighted to a service in Nevada, and paid nearly $120 just in shipping and mailbox costs. The package was just barely cool when it arrived but the medicine was very potent and has kept for the past 4 months just as powerful as the day it arrived. The cost through Talon for 10ml was only $60 for the medicine and $33 for overnight shipping, it was still quite a bit cheaper even with the extra $120 to ship it 2 day from the reshipper.

I only have 5mL left on my rX and I really don't want to use the inferior local compounder.

I tried Empower but they require me to mail them a brand new prescription, they will not accept a fax or transfer from another pharmacy for my final refill (talon did both).

Even if you're not sure if the compounding pharmacy can ship to FL or AL, I'd still like some suggestions so I can at least call and ask them.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Where in FL?
I use Coastal in W. Palm (https://www.coastalcompoundingpharmacy.com/) and they ship within FL. I think they're $120 for 10 ml in ten 1 ml vials. I've been very happy with them but I just use straight alprostadil. At my recommendation one of the other members tried them but he stated that his meds lost potency rapidly. So there's that. I've been very happy with them. I keep the vials frozen. Even the 1 ml vial I'm using stays frozen between draws. The rest just stay frozen.

I actually arrived at the same choice independently, haha. They offered great customer service too and had zero problems with calling up Talon to transfer over the remaining refills I had left on my Rx. significantly more expensive than Talon but about the same total cost since I wont have to pay for a re-shipping service.

I second that experience. I tried Coastal on the recommendation of a member on this board and I was very disappointed. The customer service was great, but the juice started to fizzle out after about two months. I don't recommend Coastal.

Exactly where are you located? I live in Florida but sometimes have Talon ship to me to a UPS location in Georgia -- about three hours away. I drive up, pick up the juice and head back. I set it up so I can get the initial prescription order and 2 or 3 refills -- enough to last a year.

Are you close to the Georgia state line?

You can't second that experience because you're the one I was referring to

Anybody order from Coastal Compounding in West Palm Beach, FL lately? I am thinking about giving them a second try. The first order I tried was great when I received it but seemed to lose potency after about two months. Talon Compounding in Texas is my go-to but they don't ship to Florida. Sometimes I'll order from them when I am traveling to a state they are licensed to ship to.

Coastal has decent rates at $120 for 10ML. I live in Orlando, and some of the compounding pharmacies here are as high as $220. Anyway, please chime in if you've tried Coastal lately.

Well you know my answer. That's the one I use and I'm still very happy with them. Maybe your previous batch spent too much time in transit. I just drive down and pick it up as it's only about 40 min away and I can usually find something else to do in the area. There is a lingerie store in the same strip mall. Unfortunately it's always been closed when I go by
