Help please, first injection and blood in the urethra

Postby cassie8 » Fri Sep 01, 2017 3:36 pm

Please forgive me if this topic is already covered in another thread. I'm so rattled at the moment and just need some feedback/support as soon as possible because I'm worried.
1. I injected for the very first time this afternoon and was scarred I must admit.
2. I used a brand new Autoject Ei which I managed to get from the USA via my daughter (it's not available in South Africa).
3. Injected .25ml Aprostadil, needle length little less than 5/16, about 7.5mm
4. In preparation I couldn't get my pecker even semi hard, tried with a pump but I suppose my nerves were interfering.
5. Aiming at 3:00 clock and my wife press the release button while I was concentrating on holding it still and tried to avoid any veins.
6. Didn't feel a thing except for a thickening feeling starting from the bottom, but the next moment blood started dripping out in the front from the urethra - but it luckily stopped in about 3 seconds - I'm on Warfarin.
7. I suppose I penetrated the urethra and lost about half of the dose because the erection I got was not sufficient for penetration.
8. I developed however a disturbing pressure-pain and couldn't locate the exact position of it, but it felt like the "blue balls" pain after heavy petting when I was young - it was kind of in the perineal area (behind the balls). It was really uncomfortable but starting to disappear after masterbation and the subsiding erection after about 45 minutes. However its now 3 hours later and I can still feeling this "pressure" in the perineal area, although not nearly as severe as it was during the first 10-30 minutes after injection.
9. Is this pain normal, because I will not be able to take part in any kind of sexual activity if it is the usual experience with injections

What did I do wrong? I followed all the instructions/advice and links of the other members on Franktalk.org. I must inject again on Sunday and report back on Monday to my uro.

Thanks in advance
DaVinci procedure in Oct 2015, PSA is between 0.02 and 0.03 since then. Nerves couldn't be spared as the cancer invaded the nerves as well as the neck of the bladder. 100% ED, used only a pump and constrictor rings

I've been injecting since 2010 and never had quite the same experience, but all sorts of odd things happened when I first got started. Even a few months ago, I had a little lump at the injection site--as if the happy juice kind of pooled up under the skin. That's not what happened because I got happy in just a few minutes.

I wouldn't be too concerned. Of course, tell your urologist every detail about what happened and maybe he or she can give you some pointers. A possible explanation is simply what you said: you punched thru to the urethra. If you're taking Warfarin and the bleed only lasted 3 seconds, I'd call that a tiny bleed.

The most important thing is to jump right back on that horse. Think of all the hoops you've jumped through over the years to get laid. This is just another one.

Here's to hard times.

Everybody has a tough time to figure this out. Be patient. If you have concerns follow up with your doctor.
Next time:
Practice by yourself without the pressure of sex. We screw up when anxious.
Make sure you stretch out your penis straight and bend it to one side toward you thigh. !!!WITHOUT TWISTING IT!!! If you twist it the urethra rises to the side and that's when you may hit it.
Aim from a little above the side pointing down toward the center of the penis.
5/16 needle should be good.
Watch some YouTube videos.
I hope you'll figure it out soon and start enjoying the benefits.
All the best.

Don't be concerned about your puncturing the urethea. I've been injecting for 15 yrs or more and I never had that happen until two weeks ago. The injected fluid escaped thru the uretha accompanined by blood. I too am on coumadin and the bleed lasted a few seconds and then all was well Frankly, as someone new to injecting I suggest you not use the auto injector until you are more comfortable with injecting. It is easier to visually see you are not going to be puncturing a vein.
Furthermore, I suggest doing the injecting yourself....I think there is less anxiety.....with the two of you in the attempt you are feeding off each others nervousness and anxiety. I have feared needles all my life and yet psychologically I have no problem with self injecting. Go figure!
Good luck!

Don't be discouraged. Not at all. I have been injecting for more than two years now and the very same thing happened to me just a couple weeks ago.

Yeah, it is scary as hell when your dick looks like it's on its period. Shake it off and get back to injecting. The needle penetrated too deep and punctured the urethra. It also happened to me when I was using the Autoject2 for the first time. I didn't calibrate the needle properly and the device injected the needle too far into my penis, puncturing the urethra.

Here's a video tutorial on using the Autoject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnAMS5kIVso. The video is from an older model of the Autoject but the instructions are roughly the same. Remember, practice makes perfect. Practice injecting on your own, without your wife around. Go through the entire process and make notes every step of the way.

Here are notes from one injection I took:

Trimix 80-30-2 August 28 2017 30 units; 30 unit syringe

1042pm injection near base with Auto injector straight in
1044 getting erect
1054 erection pointing to ground but penis is thick. Incredible girth and thickness. Slight pain upon injection is about gone
10:54 Insert into fleshlight
11:11 Taking a break Same girth. Pain neligible
11:13 Resuming while watching porn movie. Still hard
11:18 Ejaculation 36 minutes after injection, 24 minutes after full erection and insertion into fleshlight
11:19 Up and walking around. Some diminished erection
11:29 erection continuing to diminish 35 minutes after becoming erect
11:35 erection over

Taking notes like this will give you the confidence to inject alone without the pressure of having to have "real" sex immediately.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

Thanks for all the advice, I'll definitely go for it again cause my dick felt "alive" again - not like a blue cold police baton (pumped and restricted with a serious restrictor ring).

But I still need some feedback about the pressure-pain I experienced which I described under points 8 & 9 in my previous post.

Thanks
Cassie

Cas,

Warfarin? I thought I read here that people should be cautious about doing shots when on Blood Thinners?

What did your Uro say about that? Does he even know you are on Warfarin?

(it would not be the cause of that bleeding ... like you said ... you slightly missed the mark -- better find the OTHER cavernosa next time.)

RP 2008 ... MUSE 2008-9 .. TriMix Gel 2009 .. Trimix 2009-2015 ... PGE-1 2016-2019 ..Misoprostal 2019 Onward. All worked.
