How deeply can I inject?

Postby Gastov » Sat Nov 21, 2015 4:24 pm

So today I made my first attempt to inject myself. This was a tough one, since I'm no fan of needles, nor genital pain. My doctor never demonstrated how to inject, he just explained it in words.

I injected myself with 5 micrograms of alprostadil. The prescription was 10 micrograms, but my doctor recommended me to try out 5 on first attempt. I first tried to inject on the left side of the shaft, but my hand was much to shaky (not sure if I managed to inject any fluid this time around). There after I repeated the procedure on my right side, with a more stable right hand.

I'm not sure if I went deep enough. The injection site became kind of red, swollen and painful and erection wasn't produced instantaneously.

About 30 minutes later I decided to try to achieve an erection and succeeded. However it went down when I decided to walk around the apartment a bit, but was easily achieved again once I sat down. After ejaculation it went down again, which is not supposed to be the case when on caverject.

Now I'm wondering, was the injection to superficial? Or was the dosage to weak?

Im also wondering what will happen if stick it in to deep and manage to penetrate through the septum pectiniforme?
Will this be painful?

Im a grower and the needle looks long enough to penetrate through the middle. I'm planning to make a second attempt in the morning. My goal is to have found a dosage that works by next weekend.

My experience was that using the 5/16"needles I had a lot of failures unless I really pushed it very firmly against the side of my penis. With the 1/2" needle I had better results but the needle still had to be all the way in. I could feel a very small stick when it went into the chamber it was supposed to be in. The nurse also told me it should no effort to push the medicine into the penis. I had some instances where it took force to push the medicine out and it did not produce an erection. I hated the injections, the pain afterward, the failures and the shorter and shorter erection duration. I was up to 80 units of Bi-mix and a 20 mg Cialis for a 15 minute erection and now have moved on to the next step, The implant. I am only 1 month but but I think I am already more satisfied.

I usually go flaccid after ejaculating, but get very firm awhile later.
You should feel the needle ease up when inserting through the tunica (sheath?).

Second attempt today, left side. I pressed the needle in and entered the chamber and drew some blood. I however wanted the needle to go all the way in, to have enough stability to perform the actual injection. When pushing the needle slightly further in I felt a sting of pain which caused me to pull out the needle by sheer reaction. I tried to insert the needle again, but I could already feel the pain from the first sting, spreading through the penis. Decided to procrastinate until tomorrow.

I'm happy to hear about your success with the implant.

I've had success with pills up until the last 6 months or so. I failed with sildenafil when for the first time trying to have sex while sober with a new girl, since separating from my fiancé. There after I've failed repeatedly on pills. I hope and I believe I can have success with pills again, after getting passed this supposedly psychological lockup.

Reading about guys failing with injections makes me second guess my decision about going for it myself. Is it really worth it?
My "uro" har referred me to the centre for andrology at a major hospital leading the field in my country. Hopefully they will grant me a complete ED investigation.

I believe that the needle phase is necessary before an implant will even be up for discussion. I'm a young man still and this type of surgery is rare in my country. Post SSRI sexual dysfunction is overlooked by most doctors. I believe I have a venous leak as well. Doctors will probably want me to stay in this condition for another decade or so, before even considering surgery. I'm not down with that. I'm giving this until august. If there is little or no improvement until then, I'll consider surgery by a top surgeon abroad, out of my own pocket. Can't struggle with pills and what not for the rest of my life.

My main question; if I push the needle all the way though is there a risk that I will penetrate the septum which separates the two spongy chambers in the centre and if so will it hurt? Might this be what caused a painful reaction on today's attempt?

I origilally went to one of those over priced men's clinics. They started me out with an auto inject and taught me to adjust the depth of needle penetration to 5/16" using 1/2" needles. On rare occasion I have also free hand injected using 5/16" needles pushed all the way into the hub. To date I haven't had a failure to get an erection using the information they gave me. My suspicion is assuming you are using a 5/16" needle you are not going deep enough or you aren't going in on the correct angle (9 and 3 or 10 and 2). If you are using 1/2 inch needles you may be going too deep and actually penetrating the urethra.

You shouldn't feel and pain per say just the pinch of the needle breaking the skin. As I understand it the corpora doesn't have any nerves to feel pain.

Yup, I think that may be the case. I hope it will be possible to attach a smaller needle to the syringe. It's extremely hard to gauge and inject properly if you don't go all the way to the hub.

3rd attemt today. Dosage: 7,5 µg

Result: Swollen injection spot and aching balls. Bummer. Hoped to be sporting a 2 hr erection.

Probably went to shallow this time around, or the dosage may have been to low. On a positive note, anxiety was minimal. Hope to have this down before the weekend.

Gastov, an easy way to tell if you have hit the corpus cavernosa is before you actually inject the drug, pull back on the plunger and look at the syringe to see if there's blood in the syringe. If so, you're in the right spot! If you pull back and get nothing, you've missed the corpus.
I inject slowly and check for blood in this manner every time, and I haven't missed now in over 6 months. I have been injecting trimix for just about 1 1/2 years now, and I had difficulty at first in the same way you have had trouble. But don't give up! Once you get it, you'll be able to enjoy great erections and so will she!

@Gastov, also, plump your penis up just before injecting, as it makes it easier to hit the right spot! I do every single time and it really helps. Either get it partially erect yourself or use a vacuum pump to do it. I'm not well-hung, so this method really helps me.

Gastov,

Google Images "cavernosa cross section" without the quotes

you will see why you need to inject at 90 degrees, and 5/16" needle all the way in to the hub.

I think you will find everything will work great.
