Dosage calculation?

Postby Mike Zee » Tue Sep 17, 2013 1:51 pm

Just dropped off my script for Tri-Mix at compounding pharmacy.

The script said the order was to be 5CC....with an order of 20 syringes.

How many shots of 0.4 ML can I get out of this?

Should have asked the pharmacy tech, but after she informed me that my insurance would not cover any of this prescription...I was taken back.

I got my vial in March, use 5-6 units per shot, and it is maybe half gone -- if that.

You actually have to pay for it yourself??? Horror of horrors! LOL, Americans are so spoiled. I paid for mine too -- it was just under $100, I have gotten 35 hardons with it and it is only half gone. Syringes are 29 cents apiece.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me.

Hey! 35 hard-ons for $100 sounds like a great deal . I was paying $120 for six Viagras. So that's $20.00 a piece for sex...

I still don't know how many 0.4 ml dose I can get out of 5cc...

Just curious..

It sounds like 12.5. 5 divided by .4 =12.5

Thanks for the clarification. The cost is 110.00 for script and syringes, so that works out to about 9 bucks a shot...

It is a break vs Viagra (Which quit working) but I was hoping for a better per shot cost.

Cut that in half, actually. The $100 vial is barely half gone, so it is really 35 hardons for $50.

I never bothered to learn all the various metric conversions, so I think only in "units," which is what the marks on the syringe are. I believe your .4 ml would be 4 units (hopefully not 40 units). Going back to my previous post, I use 5-6 units per dose and have gotten 35 from half the vial; the whole vial should give me roughly 70 doses. So if you only use 4 units, you would get close to 100 doses per vial.

Andy,
quote from Ghostbusters is relevant here;
Venkman: Ray, for a moment, pretend that I don't know anything about metallurgy, engineering, or physics, and just tell me what the hell is going on.
Stanz: You never studied.

Ok.. you be Venkman...

.4ml does equal 40 units .. so his use per vial really sucks.

Wow, I guess so. :(

So he will only get 1/10 of what I said: about 10 doses per vial -- ten bucks apiece.

5CC is the same as 5ML. So at a rate of .4 ML (or 40 units) the theoretical maximum is 5 / .4 =12.5. Do not think you can empty the vial "dry" so at 40 units per injection you may be looking at closer to 10+/- injections
