What's the truth about scarring etc. from injecting?

Postby Andy425 » Sun May 05, 2013 10:50 am

I've read, mostly on this site, that needles can eventually cause scarring and/or a Peyronies bend. It is also mentioned under the "Treatments" tab above.

So what are the real risks, percentage-wise, and how many injections does it take for possible problems to arise?

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I can't even see where I injected the day after or even later in the same day. I have been injecting for over a year and a half now and have experienced no scarring nor other adverse signs. Most of my injections are forty units of Trimix.

I cannot see the needle mark shortly afterwards either. But, does that necessarily mean anything? I tend to inject less than maybe I should because I worry about causing damage.

I'm wondering if the needle is a long-term solution to ED for most men. Being unmarried I don't contemplate ever getting an implant, but I don't have a crystal ball so who knows what the future may bring (it will NOT bring marriage, but it could bring a relationship-for-life).

As I have mentioned in several similar threads today, I have read several sources that state that less than 10% of guys who inject end up with scarring issues. I have been injecting for about 20 months without any detectable scarring.

@ dt:

So roughly how many times have you injected in the 20 months?

At least twice a week for me, Andy, for about the same period of time, and I'm also 70. If you notice scar tissue buildup or other problems, quit injecting. Let you urologist examine you if you feel that you can't observe and are still concerned.
