Erection quality - Just something for general discussion.

Erection quality - Just something for general discussion.

In the last year or so, as Invicorp injections became less effective, it got to the point where I was just about hard enough for penetration, but I didn’t find sex particularly pleasurable.
.
I know some urologists would consider the ability to be able to penetrate as the critical element, but I came to realise that I was missing the feeling of a properly hard penis, as well as it became more difficult to achieve orgasm.

Now that I have gone back onto Alprostadil, it feels so much better for me, and my wife has commented on the improvement.

How do you assess the quality of your erection?

Some doctors reference the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) and the Erectile Hardness Score (EHS). You can find more information on it here:

Age 59, happily married over 39 years. T levels on the low end. Cialis (Tadalafil) was working great but not anymore. Now taking Vardenafil. Also use a Vacurect VED with a PosTVac Mach Ring as a backup.

I think. the Erectile Hardness Score (EHS) underlines my point.

Grade 3: Penis is hard enough for penetration but not fully hard.
Grade 4: Penis is fully hard and rigid.

One of my previous urologists considered a Grade 3 erection as sufficient.
For me that was less than satisfying (albeit functional).

I had an urology nurse practitioner tell me that sex with a less than a fully rigid erection can cause some micro scaring to the penis, which if done often enough, can potentially cause peyronies.
