Cost

Postby bldoink » Fri Mar 31, 2023 5:31 pm

I finally reordered my mono-mix after more than 2 years. I essentially got a quadruple order last time. I had about an order left over and bought the whole 3 refills of another script. It's lasted over 2 years hard frozen without losing noticeable potency. Although I will start out at a reduced dose with the new batch to be safe. Anyhow, this post is about cost just for those that may be wondering about it. It does seem to vary dramatically between the different pharmacies. Cost at my last purchase was $120 for 10ml in ten 1ml vials. This time the cost is $145 for the same order. So it went up $25. Not a shock considering Joe's inflation. I didn't ask this time but was told in the past that the tri-mix options were priced the same. Also different strengths of mix were also the same cost. The pharmacist told me the cost was in the labor and not the materials.

So, $145 for 10ml.

Edit to add: I should have mentioned this is a Palm Beach County Florida pharmacy that only ships within Florida, Coastal Compounding Pharmacy.

At the beginning of March 2023 I paid $136 to MenMD compounding pharmacy (St. Petersburg FL) for 5 ML of trimix. Cost included packaging and overnight shipping to Orlando. At 40 units per shot that's $12.50/injection which I feel is kinda pricey. This is who my uro uses (don't know if he or HCA gets a cut of that).
I'm considering going rogue to Olympia here in Orlando to see if I can get a better price/stronger mix to reduce my per injection cost.
I'm interested to know what the users of Olympia have experienced with taking that approach.

Back when I was injecting Olympia was where I purchased mine, at first. Switched to RXBuyersClub later and they were great, cheaper and faster completing orders.

Oldguy - Did you get your script from your "normal uro" or did you get it from a pharmacy associated dr.? I'm curious how the dosage was changed in this situation. I'm concerned that a new dr. associated with the pharmacy will want me to start all over and I'll have to work strengthen the formula from ground zero again. Also, Olympia is less that ten miles from my residence so delivery shouldn't be an issue.
