Managing syringes and getting ready to inject

Postby RPSurvivor » Mon Mar 20, 2023 11:04 am

I draw up all of my doses and freeze everything. Ahead of playing I take one out to thaw during our sweet time. The only problem I have is there is a tiny bit of desiccated fluid in the needle which will inject and cause hurt like something hard is suddenly inside me, which it is. The solution is to expel just a drop and clean with alcohol. However the plunger feels stuck after being frozen, and when I push it often shoots too much out when it finally gives.

My solution is this 3D printed tool which allows me to turn a screw to delicately apply force to the plunger, waiting for that one drop to appear. Sometimes air also comes out due to the plunger being pushed back during freezing, then sucking in air as the fluid melts. At least that's what I believe is happening.

When I freeze syringes, which I don't do often, I always pull a little air into the syringe to allow for expansion when freezing. I guess this leaves the needle clear. I've never had any issues with getting a slug of desiccated of juice in the needle.

That does sound a whole lot simpler. It's been a while so I'm not sure why I didn't just do it your way.

Maybe I overthought it? No way. I'd never do that. Yeah, right.

Thank you.

Back when I was on injections I would simply draw up 3-4 syringes so as to always have one handy when needed, leave them in the butter area of the fridge. I would always use up a bottle in about a month and never felt like it was getting weaker due to age. If you purchase multiple bottles just freeze the bottles and thaw one out at a time.
