Injecting at the base of the flaccid penis

I am curious what your experience is? I tried Trimix a few years ago. At the time, we used a standard needle and tried to inject into the side of the penis as I saw done in pretty much every reference to it I saw on the web. This was really hard to do on a flaccid penis. It hurt like all hell, had about a 20% success rate, and depth was damn near impossible to determine. I gave up after a while because it got expensive and frustrating to "find the right spot" every time.

Last week, I decided to try again, and went to a men's clinic. They had me hold my penis (still 100% flaccid) all the way to one side, and then used an auto-injector to inject it as the base of the penis, at the line where penis ends and meets your skin. This worked the very first try, didn't hurt at all, and really did the job. For what it's worth, they wouldn't let me leave without knowing the erection was gone, so they gave me a shot of the antidote, same location (on the other side of my penis of course) and had the same experience. Didn't hurt, worked right away.

I'm curious if anyone has tried injecting at this location, and how has that worked out for you? Have you had pain/failure issues trying to inject mid-way?

When I was injecting Trimix, my uro had me hold my penis and inject at the base like you said.
I never used an auto-injector.
It worked well most of the time, and never hurt.

I found it useful to have at least a chubby before injecting.

If you can’t achieve that by manually working it use a vacuum device.

I would use a pump up vacuum device to swell my penis including the corpus. That gave me a much larger target.

I would vacuum while having the shot ready to go. Then take off the device and quickly give yourself the shot before it deflated. I found doing this increased my success rate.

BTW you don’t have to inject only in the base. You can move up some until you find a spot you can easily hit.

It states that Trimix stopped working after only 8 years in your case....Do you believe its because of the medication or the fact your ED just got worse?

I belive it was because my ED got worse. My uro did tell me when he started me on Trimix that I would eventually need an implant.
I started with Viagra till that stopped working for me, then Trimix, I now have an implant.

Thanks for the reply. It seems that for some Trimix doesn't work that long and for some it lasts for years and years. It usually seems that those that start on real high doses are the ones that it doesn't last for.

I’ve been using either Invicorp or Alprostadil as only two options in UK

Within 6months. It’s stopped working, seems to be flushed straight out and giving a systemic face flush like you’d get with viagra. Even with constriction ring on

I always aim for half way along as that’s what’s all the
Meds guide etc mention

I had been thinking with injecting lower down so meds stay in there a bit longer to act

Where are most people injecting?

Thanks.

toddhd: I do manual injecting. It took me quite a few injections to get the technique right, but now I succeed 90% of the time. I use the entire flaccid length, both sides. At the base I need a longer needle, 12.7mm (1/2in), whereas I use 8mm (5/16in) everywhere else.

When I was using Bimix, I was injecting about 'halfway' up penis. The reason for the quote is because I was told to stretch it a bit while injecting.
One time, I was not paying attention and I injected right in my dick head!!! I did not stretch it and just held my dick and injected. That was the last time I injected when tired, lol.

My tri mix journey only lasted a year and after 9 mos, no pain while injecting before that and then it started to go bad for me. Scar tissue, fibrosis, lumped when injecting pain and bled some after, so threw in the towel and went with the implant .
