1. How do you travel with the shots (especially when flying)?

2. Is it even possible to not get scar tissue from the injections? I especially worry in a vacation environment where you will be using daily for 5-7 days.

Thanks again!!

It is possible not to get scar tissue as that does not happen in the majority of men but can happen.

I'm not saying all guys get scarring (fibrosis) but I did.

I could have squeezed another couple years out of it if I would have wanted to since the scarring wasn't severe.

In my case when I used enough trimix to get hard it would last over 4 hours almost every time. If I did less it wouldn't stay hard enough long enough. I had to inject phenylephrine to get rid of my hardon almost every time. That doubled the amount of needle sticks I did. That probably added to the fibrosis. Not every guy will have to do that

Phenylephrine injections can cause a heart attack and I was doing them 2 or 3 times a week. I am 66 years old and I figured I'd rolled the dice more than enough times. I had some scarring and the risk of phenylephrine and I was tired of sticking needles in my dick. So I got an implant.
PLUS my Medicare advantage plan paid for all but $200 of it!

If you miss the "sweet spots" and partially inject into the lining of the corpus that causes a painful knot. That's where you get scars developing.
You have to make sure you plan your shots carefully to not do that. Also you cant keep injecting in the same spot over and over. Its tempting because you're trying to miss veins and make sure you hit the corpus dead center while sticking a needle in your dick. Sometimes trying a new spot causes a miss and a knot. I had plenty of partial misses over 11 years. I also had HUGE black bruises from having vigorous sex after injecting. That was rare though.

I have only had my implant for 12 weeks now. I cycle it daily but I haven't actually used it with my partner. Her adult daughter died of a fentanyl overdose recently and there is no sex going on around here due to that. At this point I am not sure when or if that will get better. But the implant seems to be working just fine. No more injections.

Good luck!

Keith I was in no way taking a "Shot" at you about the scarring I was just saying that it happens in the lower end of the users. I find your posts to be some of the most informative on here. I can't imagine having to use phenylephrine every time. I used it once after I got to over zealous and injected way to much and the injection itself was so painful on a hard wang and the drug itself hurt. Sorry to hear about the Fentanyl overdose. The Fentanyl problem we have in the states should be treated like our number one public health crisis.

I am going to the urologist on Friday to discuss the Trimix injections. I am only 38 but Viagra and Cialis just aren’t working and I’m tired of worrying about failure. It’s either that or the implant but I would certainly need insurance to cover the implant. I have a great partner and think she would be 100% supportive of whatever needs to be done but this is a new relationship which will lead to lots of activity so the biggest concern I have is the frequency of needing to inject and traveling with the medication.

Hi -- sounds to me that a key factor for you that is kinda being sidestepped is your implant insurance issue -- do you not have insurance or is it a question of your insurance coverage for an implant?
75, used pills, injections -- all lost effectiveness. Titan implanted by Eid in Feb '22.

My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it but...

If I were you I would forget about the implant. At your age the doctor and the insurance company will balk at it most likely anyway.

If you are sure the pills wont work then injections are the way to go. And that's what the insurance company will say too.

If you got an implant now you would have to replace it a few times before you got to my age probably. I'm pretty sure your cock isn't going to improve with multiple revisions. The devices 10 years from now will probably make todays implants look like a joke.

I get it, traveling and sharing a bathroom at a hotel and doing the shots is a hassle. But you can pre-load the syringes and do it in no time.
The actual traveling with it is nothing. Most decent hotels have a fridge these days.

You need to focus on quality sex not quantity. If you can knock your girls socks off in bed every other night she aint going anywhere.
Just make sure she is getting off, always. You will be able to F way longer than any guy she has been with, so make it good. Brush up on your oral skills too if you need to. This is your chance to be Superman in bed.

Good luck at the doctor.

My urologist has me on 100mg sildenafil plus about half the Trimix I would otherwise need. This has worked well for years. I have no scarring that I know of, probably because I divide my length into five "zones" which gives me ten injection areas. I inject once a week into a new zone, keeping it all straight with a spreadsheet, because different zones need different length needles. Plus the sides need different Trimix amounts. My physiology isn't nice and regular, like the medical diagrams. I've now injected about 250 times, so that's 25 times per zone.

Some FT guys say that scarring is from one of the Trimix components, not from physical damage from the needle, but I don't know. Maybe your doctor knows; maybe it doesn't make any practical difference.

Don't get her hopes up that your first injection will result in a usable erection. You've got to start small and titrate up several times to see what you need for a 2-3 hour erection - going too fast will give you priapism. When I did this I injected every fourth day. It's tricky and you would do best by doing experiments over a period of weeks to get the hang of it, while simultaneously reviewing the years of injection advice in this topic.

In the meantime, as Keith says, keep her happy with your oral skills!

No way in hell would I take 100mg of viagra and do trimix.

One of the big reasons guys take trimix is all of those pills have unpleasant side effects.

If you google those two medications all the links say do NOT take them together.

BTW the first time I did trimix I was like a fence post and it worked great.

I take 50mg of Sildenafil with my monomix fairly often to boost it and allow a reduced monomix dose, probably 30% of the time. No issues other than heartburn and stuffy nose.

When I told my current Uro that I was stacking the sildenafil with the monomix he looked at me quizzically and asked "Why?" I told him it allows me to use a reduced monomix dose. He just replied "OK" and said nothing else.

100mg of sildenafil alone won't give me an erection even remotely close to good enough for for PIV. Oddly 100mg used to produce NO results. Now, after 11 or so years, 50mg of sildenafil with a novelty/sex shop cock ring will give me a chubby good enough for mediocre solo play, with constant attention. Still very disappointing but a bit of gold outline around the dark cloud. 100mg of sildenafil doesn't do any better for some reason.

I've been pretty much totally dependent on monomix injections, either Edex or compounded, since the Radical Proctectomy 11 years ago. Well that and some VED with constriction ring use.

Good luck.
