Will injections keep working as long as there is no underlying problem?

Postby Gadsiee » Thu Nov 10, 2022 9:14 am

So I have ED that’s mostly due to lack of arousal for whatever reason. I manage with PT141 and viagra/cialis, but still it takes me an hour of foreplay or so to get erect and it causes me to never look forward to a date, it’s always nothing but a war that I’m preparing for. I would LOVE to have guaranteed sex every now and then, even if it is just once a month or so.

I’m in the process of getting caverject, but with the current waiting lists and doctor’s unwillingness it will probably take a few months before I obtain it.

What I want to know, given that I don’t have any obvious physical issues that are worsening my condition such as diabetes, how likely is it that caverject is going to continue to work for many years/decades with infrequent usage (once a month or so), without inducing permanent damage? Or is this wishful thinking?
25 years old. Lifelong (psychogenic?) ED. Can attain erections with viagra+cialis+PT141 but lose arousal randomly during sex with subsequent loss of erection.

Erections are like private jets. I don't have them

Some people use injections for a very long duration of time. 10 to 20 to 30 years until their condition worsens if they don't address the core of their actual problems.

Some guys use injections for 20 or 30 years with no problems, others developed scar tissue and deformities, it all depends of your luck
I had a trauma 2 years ago, caused me narrowing, dent and shortening. PRP injections three months ago=worse narrowing, and worse ED. Now I only have two choices: impotent or implant. Born in 1975, in a relationship with girlfriend fir 4 years

Caverject (alprostadil) should keep working as long as you don't exceed the recommended frequency and inject properly.

Trimix contains other ingredients that cause fibrosis and loss of effectiveness sooner or later in many guys.

The percentage of people that use Trimix and get fibrosis is less then 20 percent and that can be reversed. I would also gather that's from guys who inject to much as well.

This isn't just about Trimix but here's an interesting study.

Had to look up the answers to this question because I was curious as to what guys went through, but no one answered like I would have thought.
For me, the writing was on the wall. I was on Bimix, but the dosage just kept going up over 5 years. It was slow, start off with low dosage, as per Dr's orders, but it got to the point that I was filling up the whole syringe just to take a shot up my dick!
It did work, but how much was it going to take in terms of having to change meds for just one syringe?
Eventually, I got the implant.

I have been using EDEX / Caverject since 2007. I have 0 physiological issues with my penis, neither caused by the injections nor by anything else. I had a doppler 2 years ago and it was "fine". No fibroris, no nothing.

However, i experienced a sharp drop in success rate maybe 5 years ago. From a "80% success, 20% miss" rate it went basically the other way around and the "success" is not what it used to be. It is not completely impossible to have intercourse with injections without using 1-2 cockrings.
I don't have any other new health issue since i started using the injections.

Conclusion: You probably have a good 10 years of good to very good use of Edex/Caverject, then it will probably degrade. Sadly, if you are stuck with this type of medication and you can't get "formulas" like they do in the USA, you are... fucked, ironically.

The truth is, alprostadil on it's own is not enough. You'll probably never get "rock hard, steel-rod 3h erections" even at the very start. But it's more than serviceable, as long as it works.
39 years old, married. ED all my life because of spinal cord injury caused by a tumor in early infant age. Using standard EDEX20 since 2007. Increasingly bad results with EDEX in the last few years, but had very good results for at least 10 years.

That's a tough pill to swallow. So basically for real good erections you need to use trimix, with its damaging ingredients.

No, that's not true. Many guys get very strong erections with the correct dose of alprostadil alone. So much so initially that I was worried it wouldn't go down.

What dose did you use? Keep in mind, outside the US you can technically only get 10, 20 or 40, and the 40 version is not available everywhere.
