First time disappointment

Postby Tony367 » Tue May 03, 2022 10:31 am

Hi guys,
In short, I injected last night really anticipating an erection good enough for sex. I thought my penis reacted well at the start, after massaging the area, my penis began to thicken, so I thought after foreplay with my gf I would have a satisfactory erection - WRONG! During foreplay, my penis actually got softer! Humiliated again. Supportive gf though. I won't see my urologist for two months. I'm prescribed trimix (pge - phen./papavarene) 5mcg-0.5 mg- 15mg/ml. Inject 5 units.
I feel trimix will work effectively but imo I need to inject 10 units.
As always, I would appreciate your support and feedback!

finding the right dose is a fight sometimes. did you not do the first dose in the DR's office?

the severity of ED affects the dose, so i assume you will have to try stronger doses for success. do go low, you dont want too much. also i have heard of misfires where the meds dont go where theyre supposed to. im only up to 14 injections and all have worked but there were a few where the injection just felt off and i expected disappointment but still worked, just not as long. if you have enough meds work at it until you do find the combo that works for you. i hope it goes well. after not enjoying sex for a time, it was a lifesaver when i started trimix.

Since you're not seeing your doctor for a couple of months, you should ask him if it is OK to increase the dosage little by little until it works. Mine got me started on a dosage that seemed to work in his office, but told me if it wasn't enough to add another 2 to 3 units each time until it worked or I reached a maximum number he gave me.

As Ape said, you can also get the injection in the wrong spot and have it not work at all or only barely. There are some videos and diagrams available online to help make sure you know where the shot goes, but your doctor should be your primary source of info.

Good luck. Trimix can be wonderful for a lot of men.

Tony, look at this as a process. You are being very smart and safe by injecting 5 units at first. This is because a small percentage of men have an extreme reaction to trimix and end up with an issue of a prolonged erection- that's dangerous.

So, look at the bright side. You got somewhat hard (the trimix works), and most importantly you got soft (no danger of having to seek medical attention).

Since your trimix contents are a very light starter mix, I would say it's safe to go up to 10 units, keeping in mind I am not a medical professional and just some guy on the internet. I also started with 5 units. Currently, I'm injecting 13 units of a stronger mix 30-1-25, but I didn't get there all at once, it was a process to be sure. You'll get there.

I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Anything I post is based on my own experiences at best and hallucinations and/or delusions at worst. Internet forum advice is likely worth what you paid for it or worse. Always consult your doctor and follow his/her advice.

I don't remember what your history is, if you've previously stated it. If 5 units has been working well then you probably did a partial miss with this last injection. When injecting only 5 units a tiny partial miss can make a large difference in outcome. You're talking small amounts.

If you decide to increase your dose please bare in mind that going from 5 units to 10 units is doubling your dose. Are you sure you want that? I'd think bumping to 7 units would be more reasonable.

You have lots, and I mean lots of room to titrate up (with doctors supervision). Your mix is very weak and your dose of that mix is very small.

Please do call your doctor and at least get a quick phone consultation with him regarding titration, increasing your dose.

Always follow your doctors advice. If you aren't happy with his advice consult another doctor.

I worked for months to get injections working, with my doctor's help. All to no avail - no mix or dosage produced any result: I finally got an implant, which worked fine but was nonetheless futile.

I had good luck messaging the doctor through the portal to discuss increasing the dosage instead of waiting for the next appointment.

You guys are great! I wouldn't have anyone else to talk to about this except you all! And, I apologize for getting back so late but I worked over today. I'm not sure how this relates to my ED but due to testosterone replacement therapy my estrogen is elevated. I asked my urologist to prescribe medication to bring the levels down but he refused! Anyway that's another issue. But to reply to 'prostateMIA', unfortunately my urologist doesn't have a portal. He rotates to 3 or 4 other clinics, so it's difficult reaching him. However I'm looking for another urologist. I'm sorry 'dg_moore' that the injections didn't work for you. I hope you have much better luck with implants! I appreciate and will heed your cautionary advice ('bldoink') and yes i agree that increasing the units to 7 sounds safer. And yes, my urologist gave me my first injection in his office which he was very abrupt! He took out the syringe (medicine already extracted from the bottle) and needle without showing me how to do it. Then without saying anything to me jabbed the needle into my penis! I jumped a little then he actually got upset with me for moving! Unbelievable. So, he never told me anything about the units or even the formula he injected me. I know that my penis did not react. I also need to add that he didn't say anything about massaging the injection area. I read about doing that here. I also want to tell 'solvingadream' 'ape' and 'quincy' thanks for putting things in a safe and perspective for me as well as the valuable information that I will keep!

Injection location is very important. I fist injected to close to the glans and wound up with a "hinge" at the base which didn't work well and only a semi erect shaft. Then I made the mistake of injecting too deep and I guess I his my urethra and had this urgent need to urinate and received no erection. I wish they would put the Tri-Bi Mix in an automatic injector such as my insulin. The needle is much small, 32 ga versus 29 gauge and the pain is a lot less. I've asked and no one will discuss the smaller needle or the autoinjector.

I use a 31 gauge 5/16” needle and it works great. I tried the auto injector at first but don’t use it now.

I started at 10, then 15 and found 20 was perfect. The dosage required varies and is dependent on your ED and body size. I wish 10 worked but I assume my ED and my large size requires the higher dose.

My wife and I are very happy we discovered Trimix.
