Why not start with Alprostadil / PGE1 only (and maybe a PDE5)?

Why not start with Alprostadil / PGE1 only (and maybe a PDE5)?

Postby BrokenPiston » Fri Oct 15, 2021 10:20 am

I had a sample injection a couple days ago at a male medical clinic in the bay area (Prime). I thought they were surprisingly unprofessional in some respects and I'll be giving them direct feedback. For example, I now have a bruise from the injection because there wasn't pressure applied for 5 minutes (20 secs more like). (They could have had me do it for cryin' out loud!). It was just a sample and so I only got about 70% erect, though of course who knows with the right arousal maybe it could have gotten to more.

Anyway, in thinking about injections, I'm wondering why not start with Alpro only. Yeah, it burns/aches, but I think the burn-ache dissipates over time with use for most. This way, I'm not injecting acid from the other two tri-mix ingredients (with all the longer-term scarring risks). I think I've read that maybe in combo with taladafil / Cialis 5mg daily (and anything else like a cock ring of some kind) there might be a pretty good win here?

(But I'm new and like many early on trying feverishly to learn as much as I can from the masters.)
ED since mid '20, with slight Peyronies. Thus begins a search for the right solution(s); 56yo a/o Sep '21. Three months into my quest (12/21), I think PT-141, Cialis/tadalafil 20mg and L-Arginine (maybe other herbs) are a winning formula. For now.

Welcome to the forum!
Yeah there are a variety of strategies you can employ, including mixing low-dose PDE5 with the injections. Do you remember the dosage of PGE-1 they gave you at the clinic? Also, just FYI, avoid these clinics from now on as they are not really professionally certified as doctors to be honest and they charge wayy too much for the injections.

Thx, agree. It was $99 for a first consult. The nurse practitioner I spoke to for 1/2 hr was REALLY informative and I got sample gummies and the inject. So all *THAT* at least was worth the money.

I certainly agree with trying straight alprostadil injections first. I also agree that the mens clinic probably isn't the best path. It sounds like you need to find a good doctor with experience with and an interest in sexual health.
Good luck.

yes i think using just PGE1 at the start with a PDE5 is a great idea. you also have less risk of Peyronie's and scarring. I would also couple with light traction and light VED to get good bloodflow on days you dont inject.

i would also advice against a men's health clinic. go to a legit urologist and get it prescribed. also make sure you get the pge1 monomix and not edex, it's a lot cheaper.

IMO, those "men's clinics" just want you around to order the shots. I've got two questions. Do you know exactly what they injected, and what the dose was? And second, how do they want for each shot?

As for me, I did the telemed appt thing and got trimix sent out frozen from Olympia pharmacy. I just finished a 10ml bottle. I got 70 shots exactly out of the bottle. That comes to $3.41 a shot, which included the reversal agent bottle (haven't needed to touch that knock-on-wood), the 10ml trimix, telemed, and overnight FedEx.

I have a question to the room. Broken Piston has already had his first shot, and gotten a positive reaction to the trimix or mono mix. At this point, what good does it do him to continue with a urologist and have "flow testing"? Or any other testing? Doesn't he just need to fine-tune his dose and live a happy life?
64 years old. Had a heart attack with two stents placed at 46, atrial fibrillation surgery at 54 years. Doing great now, lost 45lbs on KETO, ED under control with tri-mix, 5mg daily Cialis, and arginine/citrulline 2x a day. And morning wood is back!

It was TriMix. The manager at that location (Prime Male Medical) was kind of fuzzy (and I think intentionally vague, frankly) when I asked how many units the shot was. First they said something like 3 than .3. They did say it was going to be lower than typical dose so I don't think it was a 30. They didn't get into pricing. I was asking tons of questions so much so the NP he asked if I'm a doctor. My main point in going there that day was just to get the "free" trial shot and see it done, experience the pain (or no pain) before price shopping having never done any injections. It's crazy how shady this outfit was for doing something "medical" in nature. Nothing really written, no AVS (After Visit Summary). They really should be shut down if you ask me.

As for the question to the room, I asked what's the point of ultrasound ("flow testing", yeah) in the last day and most said there's no point to it almost period. Almost everybody who hasn't diabetes or prostate considerations has venous leak. I'm also not convinced about going happily on my merry way with TriMix for the reasons I stated in my OP! :)

I'm actually toying with a 3-drug combo (in what ratio who the hell knows) of 1) PDE5 of some kind - low-dose recurring cialis 2) PT-141 / Bremelanotide 3) Alpro shot. And whatever supplements I think will give me further effect, placebo or otherwise. Oh and let's throw an open cock ring into the like Omegaflex into the mix too. Give me another week and I'll be talking up accupuncture, hypnotism and sprinkling holy water on the thing.

BrokenPiston,
We are going to turn your broken piston into a loaded piston once again! :D

(Bring your crane, boys!!)

Haha Abhishek26. You are mixing metaphors, but I so appreciate the encouragement. If we're going with a gun metaphor and not the piston, I would prefer not a pistol but rather a long gun, a sniper rifle maybe. Perhaps even a full-on bazooka. But not a pistol as I'm guessing you thought I meant!!

Broken, at least the $99 charge from the men's clinic had one wildly great thing....it gave you hope. You are on to something. With a little fine-tuning and getting smooth with your "system", soon you will be swinging King Kong.

Quite a few guys here have used RXBuyersClub, you can get the PGE 80mcg/ml mono mix or whatever you want. Look down near the bottom right for the PGE mono mix.

As for me, I had been using their T105, I just switched to the T106 in the trimix category on that same page.

Anything you get, keep it frozen at all times.
