Newb... couple questions

Postby itguy206 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 8:44 pm

Hi guys.

Just did my third injection today. First with the Uro a few days ago was with a .1 ml shot. He said my erection was about 75% and wanted to maintain that dose. I figured it was more like 50%. Lasted off and on about 1.5 hours. Took my second one at home a couple days ago at .1 ml... still seemed about 50%, and to me was just less than impressive from what I've read so far. Today I upped it to .15ml but didn't notice a whole lot of change initally. I guess that will be a continual experiment until I find what I want. Ideally 90-100% of course for 1.5-2 hours.

I'm a type 2 diabetic and started noticing problems about 2 years ago... then it just plummeted and I was lucky to get maybe 10-15% when aroused. One of the reasons I lost my gal I think... lol anyhow... Glad to have some blood flowing again BUT... I've noticed this ache that comes on after the injection that I can deal with ok for a while, until I've ejaculated, and then my boy really starts to ache. I'm guessing it would probably be a sufficient enough ache to prevent a round two in comfort. This concerns me as pain kinda defeats the purpose of having a good sex life again. I thought that part of it may be because it's just been a while and I have to adjust, but this seems a bit much.

My current mix is 10/PGE1, 1/Phentolamine, 30/Papaverine Some of you seasons "stickers" may have some suggestions on mix, if you had a similar reaction (ache) from using the TriMix. I haven't gotten my head wrapped around what does what in the mix, but if I could reduce the ache and increase the "angle" a bit more I'm gonna be thrilled with this product.

Appreciate your input in advance!

Same thing happened to me. I had that same ache/pain with any of the concoctions that contain prostaglandin (PGE-1). I'm using Bi-mix (Papaverine and Phentolamine) now which works well (sometimes approaching 5 hours which I'll discusss in a separate posting) with virtually no pain.

Nov. 7th, 2011-First Alprostadil injection-100% erection-1 hour- with pain
Using 7 units (.07 ml) Bi-mix with no pain
Things are working naturally now after about a year and a half. No more injections for me.

I am a type II diabetic (20 years) and started loosing my erection strength after first five years and got good results with 25 mg of Viagra; however, over the next 10 years I had to increase the dosage to 100 mg until about two years ago when even 150 mg would no longer get the job done.

Have you given Viagra a try yet?

What is your A1c level or average BG?

Hi ITguy06 - your issue with pain/discomfort utilizing a mix with prostaglandin is all too common for many men. Simply put, it's the medication dancing with your nerves. Clinically insignificant, but who needs it. You need to see a Urologists who has a laundry list of different mixes. At the moment there are 15 mixes ranging from 2.5 mcg's prostaglandin to 60 mcg's . Unfortunately there aren't many clinicians out there who practice with different mixes. So, do your homework. Find a hopefully local acedemic medical ctr. and call the urology dept., ask if there is a urologist on staff who practices sexual medicine. Go see him (or her) and talk about injections. You know it works, you just need a modified mix with less prostaglandin. Your current mix has 10mcgs. goodluck merlin

Thanks guys. I'd heard that the BiMix might be a better choice. I've only had a couple visits with the Uro so I think I'll give him a call about it... just explain the pain. I've had several injections now and the pain is a little more tolerable. Wondering if a little Ibuprofin may help with that. I don't even notice the injection as far as pain... just the aftermath later.

As far as my A1C... last check it was around 7.8. Still working on that one, but I'm guessing it may be higher next time. Not eating right the past couple months.

I'm not changing or increasing the doses at this point. Not going to chance more pain. Just trying to get Jr used to having the blood flow again at this point. If the PGE-1 is the culprit, then I'll talk to the Uro. I know the local Pharm has several mixes as I saw them available on the prescription. Thanks for the input. I'd done some searches about this "pain" on here but really didn't find the answer. At $75 bucks a vial, it can get pricey to find that perfect solution.

Hey guy,

Please do whatever you can to get your blood sugar levels under control. You might be surprised to see how that affects everything else related to your good health. I've been a diabetic for almost 30 years. I knoweth whereof I speaketh.

I can not agree more. I am currently flirting with an A1c of just over 7, but until I went on an insulin pump two years ago, I was flirting with 10 and as a result, the damage was done and I had to endure five avastin and cortisone shots in my right eye and finally had a vitrectomy to reduce the swelling in my retina.

I'm on a mix of 30-30-3.
My urologist tried me on 50 units in the office and I am down to 30 units which gives me an extremely hard erection, ( its hard enough for anal) any way the key is to work with an urologist who is sensitive to the problem and will work with you!

Well I am keeping a close eye on my blood sugar. My A1C was over 12 when I found out... Down in the mid 7's now.

My uro is a bit of a pain. I talked to the compounding pharm here and he said most of these guys in town have their script list and stick to it. I called the uro and relayed suggestions by the pharm, trying a smaller mix of the PGE-1, and a bi-mix... Called them twice and talked to 4 different people. he never called personally, or even bothered to send in a new script so I could test for one that had less discomfort.

Anyhow, I've noticed that the pain is lessening with time/use. Hopefully in a month or so it will no longer be an issue. Going to increase the does gradually until I get the hardness I want, and then slowly back off over time as I get used to it... seems like the norm around here.
