You guys are all lucky...I've been getting ripped off for years on LI, but it's the only show in town...My regular urologist wouldn't prescribe Trimix...said I didn't need it, "you don't want that"..etc...I still go to him because he's thorough with everything else in terms of prostrate exams, etc..I have ED from Cairo-vascular disease, still have an intact prostrate etc. Some 7 years ago I found a doctor who specialized in Trimix for ED....He was a former physician from Men's Medical, which was a rip off clinic in NY I understand. I have asked him repeatedly for my own prescription so I can shop around instead of getting the Trimix through his office..The pharmacy he uses is Olympia in Florida...He charges like $300 for a bottle with syringes, etc...His receptionist and him tell me it's the office policy and basically they say very nicely BTW, if you're not in agreement with the policy you can always seek a second opinion...So I suck it up like a junkie to get my drug and pay it..thank God I can afford it.. I have contacted DR. Eid's office in NYC along with another ED specialist and it's ridiculous what they want for an ED workup. 2 years ago Dr. Eid's office quoted me $2,500 for an initial workup. The receptionist said "Oh that includes everything, all blood work, exams, and tests...Although I know the cause of my ED and I've been on injections for over 7 years with only 1 minor problem in the beginning, all the doctors I've contacted insist on an initial "work-up"....they don't take my insurance and charge whatever they can get...If anyone knows of a urologist in the NY-LI area that is good, reasonable please let me know. Thanks!!

Talk to your regular primary care provider. Know exactly what you want, show a previous script, explain that you're being forced to pay rip off prices and ask him/her to write you a script you can shop around with. That's what I did. I don't think you would pay near that much if you went direct through Olympia. It sounds like you're getting upcharged for your doctor. I've price checked Olympia in the past and they weren't bad. They just don't do the mono-mix I like.

I use a compounder in Long Island that seems all they do are these injections (mono mix too), I pay $80 for a 5ml with all the syringes. They’ve shipped local to me plus to Florida on vacation, but I’m not sure where else they ship. They know this stuff inside and out, and found me a new uro when mine hit a fence. Americare compounding Garden city NY.

Mix: Alprostadil 10, Papaverine 15, Phentolamine 0.5; 20 mL total. Also got 5/16" 31 ga syringes.

Insurance doesn't cover anything, so straight up out of pocket.

Total= $95

Wow, $95 for 20ml is the cheapest I've ever seen.

If you're gonna throw out a great price like that, you gotta list your source man!

Local compounding pharmacy. I found that my insurance does cover it, I just need to submit a receipt for reimbursement.
