can I add a 4 mls of saline to dilute my trimix 30/1/10?..I am down to injecting .03 ml and still staying erect for so long that I am having to inject epi after 4 hours to lose the erection..I am going to see my uro in a few weeks and ask about bimix or something weaker than what I have now, but this is basically a new $100 vial and I would like to be able to use it...right now I have a difficult time measuring such a small dose, even with the 0-30 unit syringe ..thanks...Stan..

I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Anything I post is based on my own experiences at best and hallucinations and/or delusions at worst. Internet forum advice is likely worth what you paid for it, or worse. Always ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.

I don't see why you couldn't. If you can get a sealed vial of bacteriostatic saline made for such purposes and you're capable of keeping things sterile. You'll need to know how much mix you have in your tri-mix vial so you can inject a known percent of additional water to dilute the mix.

3 units is a pretty small amount to meter out. I'd probably dilute by 3/4 or 75% and then try 5 units of the diluted mix.

Of course ask your doctor or at least your pharmacist.

I'm not the best at math, but if I add 5ml of saline to 5ml of the trimix, wouldn't that just cut the strength by 50%, so I would double the dosage for the same effect?

Yes, that should be correct. But bear in mind that I suck at math also. I was suggesting that with the tiny amounts you use, diluting it more than 50% would be good. IMHO, ideally you want to be able to inject 8 units or more, or close to it.

Hello tigercreek,

Empower pharmacy will ship trimix as a dry power in vial, with sealed vial of bacteriostatic water to inject into the dry trimix vial. Prescription grade, not just vet grade. If you inject same amount as in your vial, it will be diluted to 1/2 strength. If inexact but somewhat close you will still be in the ballpark. Just like you are trying to draw 3 u perhaps you are getting 3.2 u or 2.9 u. So, that 6.6% one way or 3.3% the other. What size vial do you have? I was getting 2.5 ml from one pharmacy, looker only 1/4 or less full. Now 5 ml from another, same vial size and it looks maybe 1/2 full. I all depends on how much room is left to fill in your vial. Ultimately it still comes down if its OK with the doctor.
