First trimix injection and curious info from doc

Postby slipnslider » Tue Jun 16, 2020 4:02 pm

So I went back to the Uro for the my first trimix injection today. My previous visit was just an alprostadil injection which worked, but ached a lot.

Today I just injected .5 units of trimix. (20 PGE1/2/30 Papa) Tiny dose. Fortunately it's all I need for now. It gave me a semi erection that turned into a full usable erection when I got home and started looking at porn. The erection was still ached, but not as bad as with alprostadil alone. I think this will be a good solution for my ED, which makes me very happy.

However my doc, who is extremely experienced and semi retired now, one of the heads of UCLA urology, and has been injecting people for decades, gave me some instructions that I hadn't seen in this forum.

One was that the cheap needles you get in the mail aren't good enough, and he wrote me a prescription for special needles, where you draw out the trimix, screw off the needle tip and screw on a new one, then inject yourself. He said the process of stabbing the vial dulls the first needle so it's best to have a fresh one for when you inject yourself.

Next was to NOT put it in the freezer. He said only keep it in the fridge and that it will last for much longer than the expiration date. I asked why not to use the freezer and he started telling me about his lifetime of experience.

The next was that you stretch your penis by grabbing just the head, then pull it 90 degrees to the side, and inject while it's stretched. I read on here stretching was not good during your injection and think I've seen videos on youtube claiming the same thing.

The next was that it doesn't matter where you inject, as long as it's on the side. He said anywhere from almost the base to almost the head will work.

The next was that you don't need to alternate sides. He said scarring doesn't come from using the same side, it comes from improper injection technique. He also didn't believe that it was the papaverine which causes scarring, simply bad technique. But he didn't say what "proper technique" really meant.

Normally I would think this doc is clearly an idiot, since his info contradicts so much of the common wisdom on this forum, but he's a doctor and we're not.

What do you all think?

44, ED problems began around age 28 when I was on finasteride for hair loss, and also got circumcised so I lost a lot of sensation. Pills gave me bad headaches and other side effects. Now using trimix 30/1/20. So far so good.

Just my two cents: It all boils down to what works best for YOU! Personally, I think the needle story is, well, crap! I use two needles, one is a 5/16 inch 31 gauge and the other is a 1/2 inch 30 gauge. Both work with almost no pain what so ever. It doesn't matter what needle you use you are from time to time going to feel a little pain but nothing to stop you from using them. I use an autoject 2 with the 1/2 inch needle and feel absolutely no pain at all.

As for pulling your cock to one side or the other, I inject two ways. 1. I will work up a partial erection or have my wife do it, and either pull my cock to one side or the other, depending on which side I am going to inject in, and inject. Sometimes, with the same partial erection I will pull my cock straight out and inject on one side or the other. Again, it's all what works for you.

It just makes plain sense to switch sides when you inject. It gives the side of your cock a little time to rest, especially if you inject more than two or three times a week. Especially if you happen to hit a vein, bleed and cause a bruise.

As for where on the shaft to inject, I usually inject at least 1/2 inch from the very base of my cock and the same from the top of the cock head. Again, what you find works best for you.

Just take your time, try this and try that and pretty soon you will find the golden egg that works best for you

Again. just my two pennies worth.

Got to say I agree with what flyingduck said.
I almost always used the same side because it was too hard to do the other side. Told to inject at 11 or 1 o'clock positions about 1/2" from the base of the penis. I used an auto injector.
I would stretch it out a bit first, wipe the site with alcohol, inject then massage the mix up and down my shaft for a minute or so. If using a ring it went on when I got to bed with the wife.

First post on the forum. Experienced my first injection today also. With nurse supervision injected 5 units and experienced a semi erection for about 20-30 minutes. He advised that I can try up to 10 units, and that combining it with VED or ED pills is OK. Any thoughts or suggestions regarding that advice?

I've combined shots with Viagra a number of times. However, it was my understanding that most doctors discourage that practice due to priapism risk. Some guys report using a VED with injections. That hasn't worked for me. Pumping up before the injection is pointless as I deflate too fast once the vacuum is released. Pumping after injection caused a hematoma with me.

I've had good luck with the cheaper brands of syringes. I doubt pushing the needle through the vial stopper dulls them appreciably. It may well wipe off much of the lubricant they come with, which is unfortunate.

I don't stretch to inject. If that works for you than have at it.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with that although 2,3 or 9,10 might be best while learning.

I won't contradict your doctor but to me logic would suggest not always drilling in the same spot would be advantageous.

Well if you trust him enough to be your doctor then you should probably follow his advice.

We've been doing this for quite a while with the wifu, indeed it tends to work better than when not doing it.
As for the rest, couldn't tell. My uro always told me to switch sides so that the penis has time to heal between injections. After ~15 years of use i have 0 scar tissue or other damage to it, so guess it works.
Papaverine is forbidden in Europe because of history with priapism... so no trimix, no bimix etc.
39 years old, married. ED all my life because of spinal cord injury caused by a tumor in early infant age. Using standard EDEX20 since 2007. Increasingly bad results with EDEX in the last few years, but had very good results for at least 10 years.

I wouldn't jump from 5 to 10. I'd work your way up there slowly.

Glad to hear it's been working or you for so long without scarring. Just to clarify - so you inject WHILE IT IS BEING STRETCHED, correct? I remember reading somewhere that stretching while injecting will CAUSE scarring. Contradictory info bothers me.

Yes, while being lightly stretched. It's usually my wife that does it nowadays, she tends to hold the shaft between the two fingers, slightly squeeze it from the top and bottom (so that it gets slightly larger across) and lightly stretch it to one side.
Obviously everything's done carefully, no extreme measures with the sensitive equipment ;)

The goal is to compensate for the very varied size and shape a penis has. Sometimes before sex mine gets so small that it's complicated to avoid hitting veins. I have a pretty big foreskin too, so yeah, a bit of stretching and squeezing helps.
