Tiny bottles of trimix, and swapping needles between filling and injecting

Postby slipnslider » Fri Jun 12, 2020 4:27 pm

So my first prescription of trimix arrived. I was expecting a 10ml bottle but instead it's in 10 tiny 1ml bottles. (my doctor wants me to start out with only .1ml injections, so that's 10 doses per tiny bottle.) Anyone ever seen that before? I guess maybe that's good because I can keep most of them frozen and avoid freezing/thawing the same bottle over and over.

Also the instructions say to put a new needle on the syringe between filling it and injecting myself. Do you all do that?
44, ED problems began around age 28 when I was on finasteride for hair loss, and also got circumcised so I lost a lot of sensation. Pills gave me bad headaches and other side effects. Now using trimix 30/1/20. So far so good.

I think it depends on either your URO or the pharmacy, maybe both. Anyway, I get my Trimix from a compounding pharmacy in Los Angeles. I get 4 little brown bottles/vials with 2.5ml in each. As for needles, I have always gotten the disposable syringes with fixed needles. I do use two different needles. I use a 31gauge with a length of 1/2 inch and syringe that holds 1ml. I also use a 30 gauge with a length of 5/16 inch and syringe that holds 30ml. I inject the 5/16 inch manually and I use an autoject for the 1/2 inch as the smaller one will not work in the autoject. I started out taking a 20 unit dose which gave me a wonderful erection for 3 hours but I had aching in the head of my penis. I have since refined my dose to 10 units which gives me a 1.5 hour boner and no aching. I also take a 5 unit dose to go solo that lasts 30 to 45 minutes.
Phil, 75, married 54 years, ED started about 9 years ago. After viagra and cialis and pumping have found Trimix. Use 10 units injected with a partial erection. 31g-5/16" or 31g 1/2"needle. 10-1-30 :D :D :D Wife likes it too :D :D :D :D

Yes, I get my juice in 10 1ml vials. That's the best way as, like you mentioned, you can keep the rest frozen. Actually I keep all of my vials frozen, including the one I'm using. The spares stay in the back of the freezer where they will freeze pretty much solid. The one I'm using I keep in the front of the freezer where it doesn't solidify.

No, I don't change needles. That's the first I've heard of that. I do alcohol swab the top of the vial each time before use. I also use 31 gauge needles, usually 5/16 long and 3/10 cc (30 units). The needles aren't removable. They are insulin needles. As far as I know diabetics don't switch needles. Now I did switch needles when I was doing T shots but that was because the stuff was so thick.

I get mine in 5ml vials. I use Easy Touch U-100 insulin syringes and wipe the top of the vial and my injection site with an alcohol pad. No need to swap needle heads.

The problem with the tiny vials (or any size vial really) is when you get near the final last drops you have to do lots of precise positioning of the needle inside the bottle. Jockeying the needle just so to hoover up the tiny last amount sitting against the rubber plug. With a 5 or 10 ml vial you have to screw with that only after many injections finally drain the bottle, but with 2.5's or 1's you will be driving yourself crazy trying to get the last drop each 5 or 10 times.

Thanks this is the type of wisdom I could only find on this site.

I pay $120 for 10ml. I use up to 15 units but sometimes less. I'm not going to stress over the last tiny drop.

When I get down to the last couple of drops in the vial I remove the rubber stopper, hold bottle so the last few drops are in the bottom edge, insert a needle and draw all into the syringe. If there is not enough for a complete dose I draw enough out of the next bottle to complete the dose amount. Been doing this since the start and have had no problems.

I wonder if removing the rubber stopper like that introduces any risk of infection or contamination, even if just from being exposed to the air momentarily.

Slipslider---I have done this with at least twelve 2.5ml bottles and I have not had any ill effects. Anything is possible, no matter how careful you are at what you are doing. I wipe the point of my pocket knife's large blade with a swab. Then I carefully insert the tip of the blade through the center of the stopper and pry it out. It comes out very easily. I then hold the bottle up to the light and make sure there is nothing mixed with the remainder of the Trimix. I then insert the end of the needle, withdraw what is left in the vial and then insert the needle in a new vial to get the dosage I want. I then toss the stopper and bottle. I have also noticed no dulling of the needle tip by it touching the glass vial. It works for me.
