New User - Taking the plunge with the plunger.

Postby slipnslider » Wed Jun 10, 2020 2:31 pm

Hello Gents.

First time poster here. Allow me to begin by saying I really appreciate having a space to discuss these matters with people who are going through the same thing. I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now, as I decided to go ahead with injection treatments.

My dick worked just fine up until age 28 or so when I had sex with a woman, and then the next day I just couldn't get it up again for round 2. We kept trying over the next couple days and I just stayed soft. I was really hard on myself and it led me into a dark chapter of 3 years of celibacy in the prime of my life. Previous to that, the thought of not being able to get a boner never even occurred to me. After that, it was an obsession and deep dark secret. I felt ashamed of myself, worthless, undesirable. Why bother even approaching a woman when I'd inevitably disappoint her and embarrass myself in bed? It changed my entire self image and the way I carried myself through daily life. I lost all confidence in myself. I saw a urologist and they seemed to think it was psychological. I'm pretty healthy aside from celiac disease, which comes with borderline pre diabetes. I'm 5'9" 145lbs. I don't masturbate a ton or have a porn obsession. My testosterone test says I'm on the lower side, but in the "normal" range.

2 things which MAY have led to my ED in my late 20s are:
1. Hairloss medication. Propecia is known to kill your erections and libido. But I wasn't on it for long and quit when I learned about its side effects. Although some people claim they never fully recover their previous libido and erections.
2. I was circumcised at age 26 due to tears in my foreskin. And the loss of sensation was disappointing. Sex felt so much better before circumcision. There are so many nerves that are removed in the operation and the head of the penis become desensitized by constant rubbing against your clothing. Perhaps after experiencing sex with a foreskin, sex without a foreskin just didn't provide enough sensation for my brain to stay hard.

I finally got some prescriptions for viagra, then cialis, then stendra, then levitra, all of which worked to varying degrees, but gave me side effects like stuffy nose, diarrhea (real sexy to have on a date) and headaches that would sometimes last the entire next day. Plus you're not supposed to drink or eat on these medications, and where I'm from, when you're on a date, drinking and eating is usually what comes before having sex. I hid from my dates that I needed this medication, although I told a couple long term girlfriends, some of whom were very understanding, to the point where I could sometimes have sex without any medication and they'd do the work to get me hard again when I'd go soft. Others were less understanding and took it as an insult when I wasn't totally hard, which only led to a mental spiral that was hard to get out of.

Well now at 43, I'm newly single and about to start dating again. But the pills don't work as well as they used to for me. The side effects are increasing, and the desired results are decreasing. It's been pretty scary and depressing. I figured I'm too young to have these problems. My uro at UCLA told me in their 40's, 40% of men have problems, 50% in their 50s, and so on. But it feels unfair that mine started in my late 20s. But life isn't fair. I know there are much worse medical conditions other people deal with every day. So I heard about injections, read about them on this forum, and am ready to try them. It makes sense to me that since the problem is localized in my dick, taking a pill that affects my entire body might not be a good solution. A medication that only affects the problem area might be ideal, even if the method of delivery is a little less convenient. So I asked my urologist at UCLA to try injections. He said they usually recommend trimix, but they don't keep it in the office and only had alprostadil, so yesterday they gave me a test shot of that to see how I'd respond. It was a small dose, just 2 units, or 2ml, not sure exactly. They allowed me to inject it myself, which wasn't so bad after reading this forum and watching videos for the past few weeks.

Well it worked within minutes. I applied pressure and massaged and got to about 80% erect pretty quickly. The doc asked if I wanted to masturbate and I was like - um no thanks I'm good. I loved how easily it worked, but my concern was the ache. It was like my whole dick ached, especially near the base. Within a few minutes of talking to the doctor, the erection went down to maybe 50%, the ache went down a lot too, and I was able to leave the office with a sudafed in in my pocket and a prescription for trimix.

When I got home I did masturbate, and the erection came back to 80% or so, but so did the ache. The pain of the ache almost outweighed the pleasure of masturbating and having a solid erection. I've heard this might decrease over time, or decrease by using trimix instead of just alprostadil, but we'll see. It was great to have a boner on command, but if it's always going to ache this much I'll be wincing my way through sex.

The doc wants me to return to the office once I get my trimix prescription filled so he can oversee my first trimix injection as well. I notice on the prescription pad there were several formulations of trimix, and he had selected the most powerful one, with the most PGE1. It was 40/2/30 (with 40 being the PGE1, 2 Phentolamine, and 30 Papaverine). I called back and asked if this was an error, and shouldn't I start off with a weaker dose so that I have some latitude to increase strength in the future if I need it. His assistant said sure, and re-faxed the prescription for a 20/1/30 formula. It troubles me that I needed to ask this question. This doctor is a very veteran experienced ED specialist. Do you think there was a reason he was starting me off with such a strong formula? The weaker formula is costing me $290 for 10 ml, which I guess will come out to about $6 per dose.

My other question is needle size. At the office I used a 1/2" needle and didn't go all the way in. The assistant said they recommend 1/2" or 1". Who needs a 1" needle? Someone with a 3" thick dick? I've heard a 5/16" 31g might lead to less scarring so I plan to purchase those eventually.

So that's my story. I'll update it when I try the trimix, and when I have sex on it for the first time. If the ache issue can be solved, I'm pretty excited about the possibilities. It would be wonderful to not have to worry about disappointing a woman again, or deal with the annoying side effects of pills. If I could find a way to discretely carry a syringe on a date and quickly and discreetly inject myself, I think it would do wonders for my self image and self esteem, not just in the bedroom, but in life in general. I'd feel like a man again. Thanks for being such a supporting community.
44, ED problems began around age 28 when I was on finasteride for hair loss, and also got circumcised so I lost a lot of sensation. Pills gave me bad headaches and other side effects. Now using trimix 30/1/20. So far so good.

Trimix usually gave me an ache in my penis. When I had to increase the dosages to get results the pain got worse. Before my implant I was using Quadmix, and I would ache for 2-3 days after using that.

Go to RXBUYERSCLUBUSA.com. Become a member and order the standard dose of Trimix 30-1-10 (T105). Also order 30g 1/2" needles and a vial of phenylephrine. Pick up some alcohol pads at the store. Start with a low dose .10 units. Inject about 15 minutes prior to initiating foreplay. Keep in mind that sexual stimulation will add blood flow in addition to the medication. Increase the dosage each time as necessary to get satisfactory results.
It may be a bit awkward to manage if you are dating again but the marathon sex is well worth it. :D

Can you just buy phenylephrine? Or does that require a prescription as well?

Slipnslider... Seems like you are on the right course for your problem. I use straight PGE-1 which produces great results. Have been using it for four years . Early on I had the aches but only after 2 hours... however they gradually diminished and now almost completely gone. Trimix burned like hell.
You might consider obtaining your meds from a compound pharmacist as the cost would probably be a lot less than what you are now paying.
Wishing you good success.
Age 80 good health. Radiation prostate 28 hits 4 years ago with 6 months of horrible ADT. Good recovery and ED worse.
Can't tolerate oral drugs but 5 years of Alprostadil 40mcg/ml 25 units is a miracle for 3 hours. GF is happy!!

Thanks so much. I'm hoping everyone is different and trimix avoids the ache of straight PGE1 for me. Because the ache was bad enough that it would make it difficult to enjoy sex.

I am getting the trimix from a compound pharmacist but perhaps there is a more affordable one I can transfer my prescription to if the medication works for me.

Everyone is different indeed. If you become a member of RX Buyers club your prescription request will be given to a doctor. My doctor never contacted me at all. They just filled my request for the standard dose of Trimix and a vial of phenylephrine. RX Buyers club goes through Olympia which is an online pharmacy. You can also transfer a previous prescription. Call their number and talk to Hank and ask directions on that.

I appreciate the advice. I've already got a vial ordered but perhaps I'll do that for my next one. I'm in CA which might have some regulations about shipping in drugs from other states, but it's worth trying.

I cured moderate Trimix ache by switching to 100mg sildenafil (generic Viagra) with 40% of the Trimix I needed before. (Sildenafil is also much cheaper than Viagra.) This is an "official" method prescribed by my urologist. Injection pain is less with 31 gauge 5/16-inch (8mm) needles.
Age 78 in 2023. On testosterone replacement due to hypothalamus malfunction. (Attention depressed guys: low testosterone is a cause.) Healthy health nut but ED due to getting old. Like to keep enough cardiovascular ability to thrust for 30 min.

That might work for some men, but my whole reason of moving from pills to injections was because of the side effects of the pills - headaches, diarrhea - plus you cant eat or drink with them, which is what people usually do on dates.

In addition, the pills have stopped working so great over the past couple years.

I'm really hoping injections can be a solution for me that allows me to avoid pills, their side effects, and their limitations.
