Trying to decide.
Viagra and counter parts no longer work.
Injection works for me.
Is it worth it to have an implant?
Or stick, no pun intended, with injections?

I can only give you my experience with injections as that is what I am using at present. The pills would give me an erection but I could not stay hard long enough to complete sex. The injections have made me 18 again. Although my dose is very low (10 units for a 2 hour erection) and my cost is low (veteran using Tricare) I love Trimix. If it came down to it I would definately get the implant but only if my injections stop working or I can't take larger doses. I can buy a lot of Trimix and syringes for what my share of the cost of an implant would be.

As long as your injections are giving you and your partner what the both of you want, I would stay with injections, but the bottom line is the choice is all up to you and your partner.

Good Luck!

I'm just about in the same situation. Oral medication no longer works so I scheduled a visit in early June to a urologist. He wants me to try Trimix. It may work great or it may not. Even if it does the problems that injections can create worries me. When I expressed my concerns the urologist said that he evaluates patients every 6 months to look for fibrosis/scarring and that he has patients who have successfully used injections for 10+ years. That's encouraging but I can't help but feel like injections will be a short term solution. Part of it may be the troublesome nature of carrying the medication everywhere I go, the limited number of times you should use it each month, hearing about FT members struggle with pain, burning sensations, bruises, the need to change your dosage and the varying results switching sides and finally reading about the guys with implants who now are super studs that produce on demand erections and wear out their wives, girlfriends, etc.. Have to admit I've become jealous. Seems like for men with implants ED is "fixed" whereas with injections you're still "dealing" with it.
That being said, if injections don't inhibit your lifestyle and they have no negative side effects you might want to stick with them. There new styles of implants and treatment types on the way that you might be able to take advantage of.

Injections work well for me and have for about 9 years. I'm still on mono-mix.

68catfan--- What you posted is correct, however, you failed to mention implant failures and they do happen. Guys on this forum have had failures. That means another surgery and high cost. I have talked to my uro about an implant and he informed me that they do fail and some failures can be replaced and some can't. So just be aware that could happen. Myself, if it came to either a implant or no sex, where is the operating room?

When would a failed implant not be replaceable other then maybe the patient's health is too poor? Several FT members have had multiple revisions...

Welcome to the forum and thanks for asking our opinions.

On the one hand,
I like not having to carry anything with me to get an erection. With an implant, I am self-contained.

On the Other hand,
Implant is irreversible. If a genuine cure (implant is not a cure, it is a prosthetic, just as a prosthetic leg is no cure for an amputated limb) came along (or a better implant than is on the market now) you CANNOT avail yourself of that, since the implant operation destroys or compromises your corpus cavernosum to the point of non-functionality.

On the OTHER other hand,
The implant-provided erection timing is under your control considerably better than pills or injections.

On the OTHER other other hand

See where this is going?

List the pros and cons and balance them. Get back to us with your lists and let us know what factors YOU consider weighty. Your values might differ from yours. I valued the independence from pharmaceuticals (injections or suppositories) very highly.

Any of the drugs (Viagra, Trimix) can and will cause some side effects eventually, or fail. I always hated guessing if I should take a pill, or have to interrupt fun time to go inject. With my implant it's go time any time.

I injected for years, I got tired of it because (can only speak from my experience) it still had a failure rate, if someone showed up unexpected it seems rude to say, I am on my way to a hard on with a short window so we are gonna go fuck, just find something on TV and we will be with you as soon as possible, and there are times I like to go back in for another round, or two and when you shoot your load that’s it, can’t do another dose that night. Those were my issues with it. A implant gets you railroad spike hard Every time with just a few squeezes on your nutsack and you can shoot a load and you’re cock stays hard so you can keep fucking like the energizer bunny oh and also it’s self contained, you don’t have to pack your erector set and worry about keeping it cold, in my mind a implant is the only way to go.
