Injected BiMix, Went to ER

Postby chris6546 » Sat Nov 23, 2019 12:38 pm

FML right now

39 yo
2.5 cialis daily
30mg/1mg

Ok so I might have brought this on myself. Rx was for 20 units, Dr said to start with 10. Previously did 20 of PGE 1 but got pain so switched to Bimix.

Did 10 units and nothing happened. Waited 30 minutes
Decided to inject 10 more on the other side but actually injected 15
Got decent results

At+2 hours it seemed to be subsiding so I went to sleep. Woke up at +4 and still seemed to still be progressively subsiding so went back to sleep. Woke up at +8 and drove to ER. So I had a Priapism for 9 hours. Hoping I didn't do permanent damage.

Going to talk to my uro on Monday but not sure where to go from here.

I should have waited 24 hours then tried 10 again because maybe I missed?

Super depressed right now.

Hmmm...if you got Priapism, yeah, you went a bit over board, lol.
Come clean with your Dr., you injected 2X the amount recommended to start with, and than some, so you learned your lesson the hard way (no pun)
He will probably say the same thing, except in a more professional way, but he will move forward and say AFTER you try, probably 16 units next time, and it does not work, DO NOT try to bump it up anymore until at least 4 hours later (my Dr. told me this, so I am paraphrasing here and recalling stuff).

Are you injecting at 90 degree angle at base of penis, or thereabouts?
From what I recall, alternating sides is done so there no scarring at injection sites, so you got that part right.
IMHO, it was the timing and amount that you messed up on. Calm down and move forward. Good luck.

Yes - I am pretty sure my injections are good. Thinking about it now, I feel like the original 10 went in but that i'm very dose sensitive, I should have waited 24 hours then tried 15 units.

Going to check in with my uro before I try again.

This has been discussed in the past about Priapism. Having an erection for a long time is not a big problem if the penis is still warm. It is when you get a real stinging hardon and the penis goes cold to the touch that you are probably in trouble. Also if the erection went slightly soft and then when hard again -- well you RESTART your erection timer from the start of that erection not from your initial erection. The reason for this is you were getting good blood flow at the last softening so that is like starting over with erections.

Using Pseudoephedrine HCl (Sudafed®) (the behind the counter kind ) can help.

Also simple things like vigorous exercising that gets adrenaline built up can help kill a nuisance hardon -- which explains why driving 80 miles an hour to the ER can often nix the erection that you went there for. Most of those, where it goes down by itself, are not real priapism -- just persistent erections but blood flow has not stopped cold.
RP 2008 ... MUSE 2008-9 .. TriMix Gel 2009 .. Trimix 2009-2015 ... PGE-1 2016-2019 ..Misoprostal 2019 Onward. All worked.

+1 on the restarting of the "timer". If it goes down to 4 o'clock then back up to 10 o'clock, you got some blood moving through there. I've several times had +6-8 hours but not felt too worried, as I was able to get some detumescence either through some form of exercise (usually squats, moves lots of blood into large leg muscles) and/or Sudafed.

Friday night did 15 units and got 1-1:30 hr erection

Saturday night did 15 units and nothing

Rx is for 20. 25 got me to the ER. Try 17 next time? Looking for the minimum dose to produce an erection with stimulation. Not crazy about it lasting several hours either.

If 15 units got you and hour to an hour and a half one night and then the next time got you nothing, I'd guess it wasn't a medication failure but a technique failure as in user error. I'd try 15 again but pay more attention to injection technique.

Injected 16 units. Had great sex. Erection never went away. Posting this from the ER.

edit: so had semi hard erection for 9 hours, went soft right before they were about to start the procedure. Like seconds before. This time was different as it was less hard and stayed warm. Never went soft in those 9 hours though

I would really like to continue using bimix, tell me this is possible. Could I be having these long erections because I'm also taking 2.5 clialis daily? Wish I could understand these inconsistent results. As for injection technique I did the last one when I was already hard so I am more sure it went in the right place. Maybe my dose is 15 and 16 is too much.

Met with my URO just now. Said he's never seen anyone have this type of issue and he suspects its because of my relatively young age. Said taking daily cialis isn't a factor.

He prescribed a more diluted mixture and will have me inject 2x more. I forget the logic behind this but I guess I can microadjust dosing a bit more. My pharmacy charges the same amount for this mix which sucks.

Also had him prescribe me injectable phenylephrine because I'm tired of going to the ER

My uro is basically like injections aren't working for you. I have an appointment to have a doppler done in Jan. Feels like i'm on a collision course with an implant.

Just started a new relationship and told her about injections which she is cool with. Haven't told her about the 2 ER visits though.
