How quickly does trimix go bad at room temp?

If it’s been at room temp for an hour is it still 95% effective? 75%, 50%

How about at 4hours? 8hours?

Has there been any controlled drug tests done?

It would be helpful to know if you were going on a date and didn’t have good options for keeping it cold.

Goodwood, a very good question and I bet there are a lot of guys out there who would like the answer. Sometimes, when I know my wife and I are going to have sex I take the syringe out of the fridge and put it in the med cabinet in the bathroom up to an hour before I plan to inject and I have not had any issues.

It’s a lot more stable than you think. Check out this published study on the stability of tri-mix at room temperature.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/23924676/

It looks like after five days at room temp 8% of the alprostadil was lost.

Wow! Only 8% loss at 5 days? Guess I don’t need to worry so much. I keep the vial and some prefilled syringes in the freezer. When I expect to have a hookup after work I grab a small freezer pack/wallet and put a syringe in there. At the end of the workday the pack is still cool but not frozen any longer. Guess it’s still full strength!

Thanks for posting that article!!

Great info.
Thanks for sharing.

So keeping the medication frozen(-20) seems to be best long term solution.
A frozen syringe will still be at room temp after 4-6 hours if in an insulated container.

Helps a lot.

Posted this in another thread, but it applies here

FWIW, I keep pre-filled syringes at the ready, unrefrigerated, for several days with no perceived loss of potency. Just this last weekend, I took five with me for a coastal getaway, just kept them in my travel dopp kit at room temp. No problems at all.

I had it out for 10 day at room temperature and did not notice any difference. I still have some Trimix that is about 1.5 years old kept in the fridge and no loss of potency. I think keeping the sterility of the solution is a greater concern.

I woke up this morning and found my brand new 5 ml vial of trimix in the bathroom right where I had left it yesterday afternoon. So glad I could search and find this thread, as I was asking myself exactly the same question GoodWood posted a couple month's ago..."How quickly does trimix go bad at room temp?"

Thanks to all who shared their experiences on this topic here -- I won't throw it away, or be concerned about using it, or worried whether it will still be effective.

Hi guys used Tri Mix for 3 years and always keep it the fridge, however they say it expired in 30 days on the bottle.
I had a bottle or vile for 4 plus months and \it worked just as good as previous but had to use 2 more bars and it as still good

Hey guys, for me, when I was using Trimix, I would definitely keep it in the fridge. I was told it would last 90 days in fridge.
Got the bright idea to freeze it...nothing happened when I thawed it. Out of I think maybe 7 vials, one went bad.
