Do anyone know by experience if you have a say edex 40mcg and only use half will storage in freezer or refrigerator damage it? Have you stored the extra successfully? And for how long? I am thinking of course the company will say no dispose of the leftover as this is great for sales

Robert,

Did you read the old thread I linked to in your "Question" thread? I would never suggest such action as described in part of that thread. However, I reluctantly admit it does describe some past experiences I've had.

I would suggest that reusing the Edex cartridge needle after it has been used for an injection and then stored is a bad idea. Plus there can be some minuscule backwash (blood) into the cartridge during the first use, thereby destroying sterility. Even if you clean the needle with alcohol it won't resolve the backwash issue plus cleaning with alcohol will likely remove what remaining lubrication was remaining on the needle.

True or false some say freeze tri mix because the pge1 needs it to last longer but other site says see below

Maybe its a yes and no ans. Yes you can freeze pge1. But no you can not freeze edex in the container it came in .. The cartridge with the pge1 in it can be removed after mixed but maybe its not able to be frozen as it could be plastic

Even if I've done something without immediately noticeable ill effects, I'm not going to suggest you perform the same practice if medical professionals and or the manufacturer state otherwise. There is likely a good reason for their directions.

That said, my mono-mix script duplicates the reconstituted Edex as much as possible and I keep it frozen. However, there are a couple of other (minor?) ingredients in Edex that I believe have to do with stabilizing the alprostadil in it's powdered form, although in it's reconstituted form it's mainly alprostadil and saline.

Good luck.

That's why I'm on compounded mono-mix. My insurance doesn't cover it.
