ED Recover, Maybe !! :-)

Postby trimix60 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 8:39 pm

I am 8 months out now from my RP and have been on trimix for about 6 weeks injecting 3 x per week. I decided to take a 20 mg Cialis this morning and it worked pretty good, not totally rock hard like trimix but encouraging

My question is, when do you know that ED rehab is working and when it is complete ? Do I keep myself on trimix or switch to pills. I certainly want to make sure my rehab is maintained and I have done everything I can for the best results.

Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

I suspect that rehab is never complete for ED, but is an ongoing process. It is only natural to want to think that we have finally conquered this permanently, but I think that if we want to maintain our sexual vitality, we must continue to do all of the things that are working for us. I would include not just the continued sexual activity, the pump, the pills, the injections, etc., but also exercising, eating things that keep us healthy, not smoking or drinking to excess, giving up recreational drugs that result in ED, and, as much as possible, avoiding medications that contribute to ED. I'm sure others could add to this list. I know that when I was younger and smoked, occasionally drank too much, ate too much, or exercised too little, it never occurred to me that I might be paying for all that someday by experiencing ED. If you are young and still have a few things "to throw overboard," as Mark Twain would say, it's not to late; if you are older, it might still not be too late to reverse some of these effects. Yep, well said, lJ.

And based on my own experience and the advice of every doctor I've ever seen: exercise is the best medicine for whatever ails you. Mantra for the 21st century: Eat less, move more.

Not sure if diabetic neuropathy induced ED can be compared to RP induced ED; however, as far as I am concerned, I assume I will be using Trimix, daily Cialis (10mg), supplements, and pumping for the rest of my natural sexually active life. I have resigned myself to it and it doesn't bother me. My goal now is to see if I can reduce the amount of each and still achieve a satisfactory erection.

Last 3 posts I think all give slices of the big picture. Maybe if I can add another that I just thought of reading Littlejohn's post;

Guys who don't really come face to face with ED like PCa surgery "victims" or those who suffer severe venous leak, diabetes, etc, these guys I think often brush the ED thing under the carpet - I did. "Oh I just had too much to drink and had the Brewers Droop!" and they never do anything about it, let alone study what the causes of the symptoms might be.

I am becoming a student of ED and especially "MY ED". Why is it that the dose of trimix needed to have a really hard erection has decreased by 75% and continues to decrease steadily? Is it a sign of regeneration, a sign I am perfecting injecting technique, the body's sensitivity to the medication from purely chemical reaction, or a combination of factors. I saw somewhere recently a theory that the "plaque buildup" on the CC in the penis can be mobilised and got rid of by frequent full erections of at least an hour duration.

That said I am grateful and enjoying this therapy like no other. Just my thoughts...

Muz,

Anecdotal evidence strongly suggests that, in general and for most guys, "the more you do the less it takes". Why? Probably for all the reasons you've suggested. I asked my uro about it and he acknowledged the phenomenon but didn't even pretend to have a sure-fire scientific explanation.

I just accept the benefits and rock on.
