Injection/metric conversions/ml/Units, etc.

Postby guytalk2018 » Sun Mar 17, 2019 5:24 pm

hi, not sure where this message goes, but... im new with injections , just did the one at the Uro office. My uro doc mentioned how UNITS are for Insulin, not ED injections measurements. I notice lots of guys here use "UNITS", instead of ML proportions and its confusing to me( sorry). so I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents regarding any unclear proportional issues. my syringe is 1 ml divided into tenths, each tenth being .1 of an ml. so when referring to units, i can only assume at this point that one unit represents one tenth of an ml. on the syringe. thank you

I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Anything I post is based on my own experiences, at best and hallucinations or delusions at worst. Internet forum advice may be worth no more than what it cost. Always ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.

I guess your doctor is technically correct. We use units for convenience as most of us use U-100 insulin syringes so they are marked accordingly. I believe I'm correct is stating that 1/10 cc/ml (.1) is 10 U-100 units. I use a 3/10 cc insulin syringe marked as a 30 unit syringe marked in tenths of a unit. with marks at every unit and numbers every 5 units. I've been using 12 units lately or 0.12cc/ml. I am using a fairly strong mono-mix of 80mcg of alprostadil (PGE-1) per cc/ml. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not real good with this measurement stuff.

I hope that helped and wasn't as confusing as I think it was.

Edited: Error on markings of described syringe.

PS: Also demonstrating new "Mark Through" feature Paul had added to the tool bar. It's the "S" on the far right of the tool bar found when in the "Reply" or "Edit" mode.

Yes, that is correct.
It is rather simple, really. 1 ml = 100 units. A half-mil, or 0.5 ml, is 50 units.
ED for 25 years. Went through pills and currently injecting Trimix. Implant is now scheduled for June 3! :D

How dare you make so simple what took me serious thought and effort to say!
