Drawing Air into the syringe first

I have not seen a post here, nor in the recommended video, that one should draw air equal to the volume you will use into the syringe first and then expel the air into the med vial before drawing the amt of med desired. Has anyone done this?

Yeah, I usually do it. However, it doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference when I forget. I guess some air manages to leak in somehow.

Yes, I draw back the plunger, turn the vial upside down, insert the needle into the top (now bottom) of the vial, push the plunger all the in to push air out of the barrel of the syringe, then draw back on the plunger until I get the desired dose of Happy Juice. I have found that this process virtually eliminates all the air in the barrel of the syringe and makes the actual injection easier and cleaner.

When I was first instructed how to do injections, this technique of putting air in the vial before withdrawing the Trimix was what I was taught. I have continued to do it and it works well.

I think it's to keep positive air pressure in the vial to help get the juice in the syringe.
Whatever the reason, I always did it.

I think it's really necessary when filling syringes with testosterone.

I am an insulin dependent diabetic and have been drawing insulin out of vials for 25 years. I have always inserted the same amount of air into the vial equal to the amount of insulin that I intend to withdraw from the vial. This is especially important when injecting larger quantities. If you have not offset the the amount of fluid you intend to withdraw from the vial you will encounter resistance which prevents the syringe from withdrawing the correct quantity or causes air bubbles to enter the vial which can be pulled into the syringe.

I draw back the plunger to the appropriate dose I'm planning to use, keep the vial upright and insert the needle into it and push the plunger down, I don't like to inject air directly into the liquid medicine as I feel it makes it frothy with air, I then turn the vial upside down with the needle still in it and then I draw out way more then I need and then slowly push the plunger in to the desired dose while the vial is still upside down... this process seems to eliminate any air in the syringe.

In my opinion air is enemy. Oxygen oxidizes! (They sell many gadgets now to keep your wine in vacuum in the bottlers so it won’t lose that much flavor.) Having vacuum in the vial might be beneficial for leaks and might extend the potency of your medicine by preventing oxidization. If left alone long enough air will find the way through the pores of the rubber plug anyway. Have you seen a ballon that stays inflated forever? Pressures even out eventually.
All the best.

if you dont replace the extracted liquid with air, that will create a vacuum, making it harder to extract. ive always injected an equal amount of air into the bottle first.
