Tri-Mix, et al, Side Effects??

Postby Stew52 » Thu Oct 04, 2018 7:56 pm

Another thread had a post that said that the Tri-Mix constituents are removed in the liver and may have liver effects. Normal Rx drugs have SCADS of info provided and on-line (I use Web MD Drugs and Supplements) that discussed drug elimination (liver or kidney) and side effects (likelihood and magnitude).

So is it removed in the liver?? References??

I've also wondered while they were traveling around the blood stream and being metabolized and removed, what effect they had on the vascular system or on other organs.

Vasodialators and smooth muscle relaxants on the heart, brain (stroke, anyuerism), the liver itself which is heavily infused with blood, the eyes/retina, etc.

I do recall that Viagra was developed as a heart/circulatory system treatment but other uses soon superseded that (making boners for ED), so maybe there are benefits also.

Is there any research on secondary effects or recommendations folks with liver disease?

Though the mix has not been approved by the FDA, The individual components have been approved.

You should try to Google the individual components.

Web MD lists Caverject (which is Alprostadil only, PGE-1) and there is a list of side-effects and interactions.

There was virtually no info for Prostglandin powder bulk. Similarly no info for Papavarine-Phentolomine-Alprostadil vial, Papavarine-Phentolomine vial, Papvarine powder bulk and Phentolomine powder bulk. It merely says to "Contact your pharmacist or physician."

Please be careful about medical claims you see on this or any other anonymous forum. My guess is not one of us is a doctor. The forum post you reference about Trimix possibly causing liver damage may be true or completely wrong. Only your doctor can tell you for sure.

The moderator here, with good reason, has advised us against stating medical various medical claims as possible fact. Your best bet is to do your own research on the issue and then take your findings and questions to your doctor or other medical professional. Good luck!
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

Thanks Cigar, you are absolutely correct. The problem with stating medical fact it that many, many drugs, procedures, etc, depend on something else. Some drugs are not compatible, some procedures are done differently. Here is a good example... in the last few days someone posted that Dr. Eid said it was ok to bathe and cycle three days post op and yet all the other doctors advise against taking a bath BUT, the poster in the last few days added that Dr. Eid uses a waterproofing on the incision site. That makes a HUFE difference. Open wounds are very susceptible to infection and bath water just allows bacteria to float on top of the water and cook, waiting for a nice juicy wound to jump into. I would hope that everyone would feel badly if their medical advise lead to a horrible outcome, I know I would. Cigar and I both offer our opinions, we are just careful to advise people that it is our opinion or medical fact. :) :) :)

Cautions well placed about laymen giving medical advice. But the vast majority of what is offered here as advice is advice given by one's Uro verbally or in handouts. We might as well reply, "Just talk to your Uro and read his literature." So this board is really neck deep in handing out advice. But it' is understood - to me at least - that all the info posted here is by laymen (I've m not seen any labeled MD's posting) and should be ground truthed with your medical provider and/or other reliable sources. Perhaps admin needs to put a disclaimer to this in a banner like some members always include in their posts.

Please note that there were only questions posed above in the opening post, including asking for a reference on liver impacts (stated elsewhere). From reputable sources there is very little if any info on some of these constituents, much less mixed, and much less, results from FDA testing. Caverject (PGE1) is the only one I can find with any suitable info in Side Effects and Precautions.

I am here to understand the FULL impact of this alternative and engaged in seeking info or references. I'd think side effects like "arrhythmia" (cited for Caverject/PGE) and such listed are important to users to BOLO for them. I have had too many relatives and friends suffer severe consequences from not fully understanding possible side effects, especially slow-advancing ones from constant use - liver failre, kidney failure, stroke, and falling down neuropathy). The contention elsewhere that anorgasmia "may be" exacerbated by PGE1 is disturbing in the least.

Actually, I think just the opposite. I beleive most of the information here is from the poster's own personal experience. And that's where the danger is. What works for one person may be disastrous for the next.

That's why we should all consult our OWN doctors and not assume an anonymous poster is reciting verbal instructions or handouts from his urologist.

Better for you to get your most trusted information direct from YOUR uro, not third-hand from someone on an anonymous forum. As for research, we all have access to the same source -- Google.

I got a 12 page injection manual from my Uro and have a massive 4 point font instruction and drug info sheet from Caverject boxes. Much of the info guys give here - while indeed personal experience and valuable - may vary greatly from that written information for better or worse. It's all opinions and personal experience, like the rest of the interweb. But yea it's skin and a penis and not a carb or head rebuild. It's like a bell-shaped curve with much FT info in the middle corresponding to the norm of conventional wisdom Uro advice, but some/much laying outside that common sweet spot. Lest we all need to put a medical disclaimer on each post like some meticulously do (lawyers much?) perhaps a disclaimer box at the top is best. I really hate to say it but this board and my experience seems to be somewhat ahead of the practitioners, at least the ones I've run into. Not to say I discount that but do consider it with all the other info.

As far as side effects, I'd not really seen a thread on that yet so wondered if anyone else had done any research. THAT's why the board is here I assume, to share learned informatiion. So far the best list of possible side-effects and drug interactions I've found is WebMD on Caverject. And I suspect that is quite incomplete. I can relate many horror stories of friends and relatives suffering horrible side effect consequences of LT Rx drug use under the LT watchful eye of an MD. I've dodged a few bullets there myself by doing my homework.

Understood Stew... I have no problem with people offering medical advice but would appreciate it if they said, "according to Dr. What's his name", that way the reader knows that it is medical advice and not just what people have experienced. We all know that many times on here the info from the member is better than from the doctor, all I ask is that the reader know that the advice that they are accepting is either from an MD or not. Fair enough?? :)

Yup, absolutely. Some guys (like Donnie, for example) was having sex in 28 days, where I, for example, was closer to eight weeks. So why the difference... well, different surgeons, different way of doing the procedure and different patient. In order for expectations to always be the same, EVERYTHING has to be the same. :)
