Sourcing Needles (UK)

Postby rich2222 » Mon Sep 17, 2018 11:33 am

Can anyone in the U.K. help me to find a supplier of 30G or 31G needles in a ¼” or 5/8” length?
I have been using ½” needles but would like to try something shorter.

I know that I can buy Insulin Syringes, but they are fixed syringe/ needle systems (i.e used for drawing dose and injecting) and I prefer to use a new needle fitted to the syringe for injecting (after removing the 23G needle used for drawing the dose from a vial).

Not sure if these needles exist. Google hasn’t been very helpful!

In Walmart here, they sell 29 gauge fixed, .5ml syringes in both 1/2" (12.7mm) and 5/16" lengths.
Sorry if I missed the metric conversions?
No need for the larger gauge to draw from the vial.

Thanks for the input.

Some time ago, I read that using a new needle for the injection minimised pain and also site trauma, so that’s been my method.

What do other injection users do?

Use the same needle to draw from the vial and then inject, or change needles for optimum sharpness?

Note: not relevant if you are you using an Edex/ Caverject / Viridal dispensing system, so probably more relevant to Trimix / Bimini Vial users.

I'm sure some don't, but I've never heard of using a different needle to draw from the vial than you use to inject.

Some guys use a larger needle to draw Testosterone from the vial due to how thick it is.
