Need compounding pharmacy for apomorphine

Postby morgan5a » Wed May 30, 2018 9:49 am

There used to be a product called Uprima (Indian generic called Zyprima), the active ingredient of which was apomorphine. Despite the name, it has nothing to do with morphine. Apomorphine is a centrally-acting medication which temporarily increases dopamine, which can increase the effects of arousal and improve erectile performance in some men. So fas as I can tell, neither the brand name nor the generic is made anymore.

However, a compounding pharmacy should be able to prepare the needed 3 mg sublingual dose since apomorphine itself is still around. It can used in Parkinson's, and there are veterinary uses, but it is not widely carried by pharmacies.

I'd like to give this a try, but I'm having a problem finding a compounding pharmacy that handles this stuff, and that can ship to me in Oklahoma. I thought I had found one - CareFirst Specialty Pharmacy - but they don't ship to Oklahoma. But for those who might be more favorably located, here's the link:

I thought the big injection pharmacies might be worth checking with. Could someone please give me a list of the top national compounding pharmacies that are currently active in the injections business? Or if anyone knows of a compounder that actually sells apomorphine sublingual, that would also be very helpful.

Thanks very much.

This look quite interesting. How did it work for you? I might try this.
28 year old with severe lifelong ED.
Implanted in New Delhi on 26/12/19 with AMS CX (15x12) + 4cm RTE
Post op length 4.5 inches from ~ (5.5 to 6) inches. Disappointed!
Wish to have a revision to LGX some day.

I tried a 2mg dose a couple years ago, and I would say the results were very modest. But that was when I was on a BP med (HCTZ) that made me almost impotent, and before I went on 6mg of boron per day. So I want to try it again, but at a higher dose. I found a local compounding pharmacy that will sell me 30 lozenges (4mg) for $100. I think that may be the best I can do.

You have to be a bit careful with this stuff because its primary use these days is as an emitic to make dogs throw up when they've eaten something poisonous. And of course it operates completely differently from the PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra. You do have to be sexually stimulated for it to have any effect, but it's supposed to increase the effects of arousal by stimulating production of dopamine. It seems to me that the effects of apomorphine and something like Viagra or Cialis could be additive.

The pharmacist here said her most popular ED thing these days is to combine generic Viagra or Cialis with either apomorphine, but more often oxytocin, in a sublingual troche. About $7 per dose, she said. I suspect the oxytocin is also a dopamine kinda thing.
