Hello All,
I got the call today from the pharmacy. They are sending me "Trimix" , I'm sort of happy about that. They will also send 20 needles.
I just have to get it and get to the Dr.s for the teaching lesson. Now I'm wondering if it will be the nurse, a PA or a resident student/intern? Hum?
Thanks all!
Ranger

Smile, laugh, get into the spirit of the weirdness of the situation and enjoy the experience. If you're lighthearted and laughing about it, it will make the experience more pleasant for everyone. If it's the older nurse she probably has a dry, sarcastic humor by now. Work with that. If a younger less experienced person, they will appreciate your levity to relax the atmosphere. You're going to have a boner soon, be proud of that, grin, it's a happy time. When it bones out you can think, or say, "Yeah, that's what I'm talking about".

Just one note of caution, Ranger. Please don't be disappointed or dismayed if the first injection does not produce EXACTLY the results you are hoping for. It often takes multiple tries to find the "just right" dosage for each individual.
My first injection was WAY over the top (30 units) and I was still pumping wood, so to speak, much longer than needed. As a matter of fact, the doc's nurse had to talk me down off the ledge some 4 hours later by assuring me that as long as "deflation" was proceeding, there was no need for the ER.
It turns out that my "perfect" dosage was only 4 to 6 units and I've enjoyed 100% success all the time, every time, once I experimented during the first 10 - 14 days to find it. And that's been almost 8 years ago.
Some folks, by the way, require 40 or 50 units to make it happen. So do your thing. Follow the doc's advice. And don't be dismayed if everything is not perfect the first time.
Hard times, buddy...

Born 1948, wed 1969. BPH & Type II Diabetes at age 35. TURP-2002; ED even before that--diabetes. Cardiac valve surgery: 2007 & 2019. Poor results with pills. Started trimix injections in Nov, 2010. Great results from the very beginning.

True, you might not get perfection on the first trial so don't get discouraged if you don't. Still, enjoy the journey to boner land.

Well i have to agree with what everyone is saying. I was started out with 25 units with no reaction at doctor office. Sent home and told to keep trying. In the back of my mind did not want to go over board and end up in ER went very slow. Finally got to the point of 60 units and started having funny feeling BUT no hard on
, had doctors appointment and asked for a stronger mixture. Doctor said I needed to go to the limit of 100 units (1cc). If nothing happen then there was noting that could be done. I said let increase the meds, his response was would not do any good.
A little history here: at 60 yrs old, bladder / prostate removed on 12/6/2017 due to bladder cancer.
. After 34 week post surgery still no activity. My mixture I've been told is on the weak side. PAPAVERINE 22.5MG / ALPROSTADIL 8.33 MCG / PHENTOLAMIN MES 0.83 MG PER but doctor won't increase formula. I'm starting to get the idea it is time for new doctor. I'm also thinking my family doctor could get my script increase or just go back to my surgeon who performed the surgery and see if he will write me a new prescription. I just want to get back in the saddle again and feel more alive, instead of feeling so depressed. Good luck it not all horror stories, just mine

Before you look for another doctor, why not try the 1cc and see what happens?

I'll bet he wants to implant you. See another doctor.
Even my family practice doctor will prescribe any formula I want.
I still use my Uro to monitor my prostate, etc.

Re: Hello, soon will be my first time and wondering about?
jisherwood,
I agree that you should try the full 100 units (1ml) a couple of times. That formula is weak. In just over a year, I've moved from Bimix (needed 100 units), to a weak TriMix (needed at least 70 units) to a beefed-up Trimix (40 units is working). BS that he can't increase the formula.
Anyway, try out the 100 units first. If that doesn't work, see another doctor, unless you are ready for an implant. I'm not, but there are fellows on here who swear they wish they did years earlier.

ED worsened over 25 years, likely VL. Went through pills and injections, and results faded over time. Implant AMS 700CX, 21 cm, no RTE, on 6/3/24.
