New to trimix ended up in ER
I just started trimix last week and ended up in the ER with a 7 hour erection. I did my first injection on Friday with a dose of .05ml. This was the recommended starting dose. It worked ok-ish. Saturday I injected again, this time .04. It did not work too well. I took Sunday off and tried again Monday with .06. This dosage landed me in the ER. I was surprised such a small increase made such a difference, especially since the notes from my provider said to increase in .03 ml increments up to .12 ml if needed. Sudafed did nothing and I did not have the phenylephrine. I have ordered phenylephrine And will not be injecting again until it arrives. What did I do wrong? Were my injections too close together? I followed instructions of to wait at least 24 hours and no more than 3 injections in a week (admittedly, I grouped my three pretty close together). Did I try to increase by too much? I appreciate any feedback from those more experienced with this. Thanks!!!

Whoa.
It is difficult to explain why you would get such a reaction after increasing a dose by .01. Maybe you should consider switching to Bimix? Talk to your doctor.

One should never inject without having phenylephrine available. Rookie mistake, now you have learned.

Wow, I’m really sorry to hear that. It does sound like a small silver lining that your ER visit didn’t involve needles to drain your penis—that’s definitely a relief.
The main issue, as I see it, is that this formulation is extremely strong for you. When you’re injecting 4, 5, or 6 units, those are tiny differences that are very hard to measure accurately.
I’d talk with your doctor about prescribing a mix that’s about half—or even a third—as potent. In my experience, a dose in the 10–15 unit range was the sweet spot: large enough that a one-unit measuring error wasn’t catastrophic, but still strong enough to get plenty of injections out of a vial.

I injected over a decade without it, my urologist never even mentioned it. Sudafed worked for me, I never ended up in the ER.
I wouldn’t call it a rookie mistake.

I have never had to use mine either, usually a Sudafed or two helps if I am starting to feel stress. However I have had the antidote available since day 1. Never want to go to an ER with a four hour erection. The newspaper yes!

Wow, Thats a worry. I use Alprostadil on it's own (one of the ingreadants of Trimix) Trimix is made in very different strenghs. I wonderif human error in the lab could be the problem. I wouldnt use this batch again, until it is tested.
1955. I have had ED for years. We were planning to go for a Rigi10 in October 2024. Life got in the way (heart attack & stent), so we are now going for injections as a fill-in. 9/2025 More life roadblocks with prostate Cancer:((

Just throwing some spitlbals at the problem…
Any new injector is going to have an injection learning curve so I'd say it's likely a miss or partial miss with the needle that gives varying results. It has helped me to plump up the target before injecting to get a good target.

Phenylephrine isn't a magic panacea. I was injected 2 (or was it 3?) times with my Tri-mix 105 induced priapism in the ER....to NO effect. Had to have my penis physically drained with a 14 gauge needle. Horrific.

Wow! 7 hours, that’s brutal! So sorry to hear that.
I have to agree with …ButNotOff that you likely didn’t hit the sweet spot on prior attempts. I too plump up to get a larger target before injecting.
My second thought, are you sure you using the right sized needle and filling the needle properly. Almost sounds like when you think you are incrementing by .01, you are incrementing by 10? Just a thought.
Can you check with your Dr or maybe even post a pic of the needle set where think you are at .05?
