I agree with following the trend. No one had ever given me a firm (pun intended) criteria for how soft is soft enough. But if I generally am able to get a 90° bend, I consider that I'm probably past the threshold of danger. With that much bend, I restart the 4-Hour clock. Comments?
But deflation is not a linear progression, for me. I'll frequently get half hard and then a few minutes later go back to fully hard. But if I see this sequence, my concern dissipates because I figure I'm on a trend to full softness.
Also agree that different formulations give radically different appropriate doses. 1½ units give me a rock hard erection but others -- different men, different formulas -- need 50 units, so I never try to guestimate the right dose for someone else. My recommendation above is solely based upon the OP's reported experience.

Searcher wrote:Looking to the large volume of information contained amongst this group of experts. I had my first Trimix injection yesterday. I took the compound to the urologist office for my "introduction session" where he spent about 5 minutes explaining the injection technique, drew up 20 units and handed it to me and said, "Okay, let''s see how you do." I took a deep breath and injected and he said "Very good, away you go". If that doesn't work do 30 units next time, and then 40 units, and then 50 units until it works, but call me back if 50 doesn't work. He thanked me for coming in, I pulled up my pants, and made the drive home. I could feel a moderate erection forming (maybe 70% hard) and it stayed that way for close to 3 hours.
My questions:
1) The erection wasn't as hard as expected, but I feel quite nervous about going all the way up to 30 units for my next injection (especially after reading a few stories on here about priapism!) Does 30 units sound like a safe next step?
2) When I picked up the compound, the pharmacist wrote on the medication "KEEP FROZEN". I read on some comments in this forum that said that the compound shouldn't be re-frozen once thawed, but should be refrigerated. Is there a problem with putting it back in the freezer multiple times between injections? (I hope not because I did put it back in for now).
Thanks guys .
Keep in mind that stimulation does affect the hardness from Trimix despite what doctors and others may say. Yes, in a stand alone situation an injection will cause an erection, but many times not hard enough for penetration or sustained penetration.. Once you're with your partner and the foreplay starts you'll most likely notice you'll get much harder..that's been my experience over the 12 or so years I've been injecting.
