Looking for Hope – Pills Don’t Work, Thinking About Injections

Postby capetownlove » Sat Oct 11, 2025 1:10 pm

Hey guys,
I’ve been on Viagra and Cialis for years, but they barely work anymore — half-hard for 10 minutes, then nothing. I’m 56, diabetic, and guessing that’s the cause.
Got a urologist appointment soon to talk about injections. Anyone here had good results? Would love to hear some positive stories — I just need a bit of hope that I can enjoy real sex again.
Thanks and cheers!

You will find many positive injection stories here. I've been injecting for eight years and am very pleased. Injecting is tricky but you can learn, from your urologist and from us.

Before your appointment, go through the "Injections" topic for as many hours as you can, and you will pick up a sense of how to do it.

I couldn't recommend it more. Pills also quit working for me (read my post "Trimix cured my ED and PE." down board.)

Yeah, you're sticking a needle *there*. But it's a small needle and it's not a serious pain and for me, it was well worth it to get a working sex life back.

I concur with Will and Martin and plenty of others here.
The side effects from pills were getting too much- aches, indigestion, and depression, oddly.

Started on injections two years ago, very effective. Once you find the dose, you'll likely get a very reliable core erection for a 1-2+ hours and very little if any systemic side-effects. I don't find the needle painful, its worth the 2 seconds of a slight pinch.

As Martin suggests read as much here as you can before appt; and if/once prescribed be sure to "bone-up" on proper injection technique to understand and fully visualize your approach.

Go to a urologist immediately and tell him you want Trimix... I'd say there is about a 90% chance it will work well for you

Hi Capetownlove,
Like the other have said, read ALL the other posts.
Also, please create a signature. It helps.
I am on alprostadil, one of the ingredients in Trimix. It works for me. But I also have a vial of Trimix. When I am well again, I hope to try it.
You have come to the right place.
Good Luck

I was a very satisfied customer of injections for 10 years. I would take a shot, get hard, stay hard, perform like a total stud. It was great. I barely felt the shot so that part was no problem. I didn’t develop any scarring or have any other issues with it.

Over time my ED progressed and it got to the point where a large dose of the strongest injection mix didn’t work well enough. So at that point I got an implant.

I’m grateful for shots and have no regrets about using them as long as I did. They were a miracle as far as I’m concerned.

The only real downside was a lack of spontaneity. If we went out of town for a quick trip I would think about how likely it was we were going to have sex. Sometimes I guessed wrong. Sometimes opportunities for sex came up and I didn’t have my shots with me. Bummer.

But all in all, amazing stuff.

There are 138 pages of topics/threads in the injection category going back to 2009. Scan through and after reading a bunch of pages you’ll get an idea of the common threads throughout.

Injections work very well. There are downsides, but generally they produce better and longer erections than pills, without the surgical risks of an implant (especially for a diabetic). I think you'll be happy with injection therapy, I was for the better part of a decade.
