Trimix Dosage Question

Postby Magic Rat » Wed Aug 10, 2022 11:17 pm

I have a prescription for Trimix that shows (on the label): 20 units of 17.6 mg PAP/0.64 mg PHE/5.8 mcg PgE1

I am am wondering about the quantity and proportions I have been prescribed. I have seen others in this forum with prescriptions that seem to have much higher quantities of each drug and different proportions like, for example:

- 30 PAP-1 PHE-25 PgE1
- 20 PAP/1 PHE/25 PgE1

My questions:

-How important are the proportions of each drug of the Trimix?
-How important is the dose?

The reason I ask is that I have not had the boost I have expected from the injections...

Please chime in with your thoughts.

17.6 mg PAP/0.64 mg PHE/5.8 mcg PgE1 is a pretty weak prescription.

I started out using 20 units of 30 Pap/1 Phen/10 PGE. I would get a 1 1/2-hour rock solid erection initially but as time went by, I had to constantly increase the quantity. After a year and a half, I was injecting 40 units to get a 45-minute erection. After that I stepped up to 30 Pap/1 Phen/ 25 PGE but found I hard to start out higher at 25 units to get a 1-hour long erection. Now here we are a year later of using that prescription and 40 units only gets me 1/2 hour long erection. I just started using 30/3/40 and 10 units gets met hard for about 45 minutes.
Basically, what you'll find is that stepping up to the next higher prescription will increase the hardness of your erection with lesser units. If you're at 40 units of your current prescription and you're not getting hard, then step up to the 30/1/10. Start out with 10 units and see how that works. As always get a bottle of phenylephrine just in case you get too good a response and have a 4-hour long erection. (Priapism)

Here is a breakdown of the ingredients.

Papaverine: is a vasodilator: produces an erection by allowing for increased blood flow to the penis. (Brings blood into the penis)

Phentolamine: is an Alpha Blocker: induces an erection by relaxing and dilating the blood vessels of the penis, as well as by elevating cardiac output (Makes more room to store more blood )

PGE: (Alprostadil): known as Prostaglandin in the body: allows for more blood into the penis and lets less blood out by relaxing the penis's blood vessels and dilating cavernosal arteries (Retains blood in the penis

With increasing strengths of Trimix you'll see that its usually the PGE that goes up.

I'm unsure what you mean by boost.
Did your doctor give you any instructions for increasing your dose? It's pretty common for doctors to start you out on a weak starter mix and have you gradually increase your dose until you find what works. Often the mix strength will have to be increased also. This can take some trial and error and time to find your perfect strength mix and dose. Be patient.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond and the detailed explanation. I will increase my current dosage to 3 units and take it from there. If I get to 4 units and am not getting 45 minutes of decent wood, I will call my doctor to get a stronger mix. Great to know that there is a lot of room (between dosing and strength) to figure this out!

My doctor actually did not give me instructions on increasing the dosage. I will increase and see what happens. Great to know that I have room to experiment.
