New Pump User Needs Advice

Postby Lazy Horse » Mon Sep 22, 2014 12:14 pm

I am fairly new to Frank Talk and this is my first posting. I am seventy-four years of age, a Type 1 diabetic for 50+ years, five heart by-passes with stents installed, plus a few other complications caused by my diabetic condition. Upon the onset of ED twenty-five years ago, I visited an urologist who prescribed the vacuum pump and told me complete and simple instructions, along with a video would come with the pump and sent me on my way. I purchased an Osbon ErecAid System Classic pump which I used for several months, never achieving full nor satisfying success. I abandoned the pump for penile injections and then when Viagra/Cialis came to market I turned to the little pill. I recently experienced a heart attack which put an end to the use of any pill containing nitrates.

With few alternatives available, I have returned to the vacuum pump. After considerable research via the internet, I found Frank Talk, which has been a valuable and very informative resource to me. The comments, contributions and sharing of its members has answered many questions and provided me with the feeling that I am not alone facing this dreaded illness with its psychological consequences. One particular posting “My personal experiences with pumps”, posted by repugh dated 3/24/2010 is the most comprehensive and informative pieces I have found to date. It answered many questions and concerns I had regarding the pump. In my opinion all pump manufacturers need to include this posting with every pump they distribute.

I have a few questions hopefully members will be kind enough to respond to and share their knowledge and experience, for which Ie would be most grateful.

• I am using an Osbon ErecAid System Classic pump and find it difficult to mount the tension ring onto the cylinder, especially once the ring is lubricated. I noticed several references on the web site referring to the use of a “cone” to assist with the mounting process. Is any member using a Cone with the Osbon ErecAid System Classic pump system? If so would you share with me the norminclure of the cone you are using and where I can purchase one?

• The literature states that tension rings should not remain on the penis for more than 30 minutes. Do most members perform the pumping action before foreplay or during foreplay? I would think applying the pump once foreplay is in process would detract from the foreplay process? I would appreciate any suggestions or tips you may have with incorporating the pumping action during lovemaking.

• My wife has complained that the pump creates greater girth of the penis and is a discomfort, even at times painful during intercourse. I notice many members mentioning in their postings that increased penis girth is common with the use of the pump. Has anyone found a method or solution to achieving a ridge penis without the additional girth effect?

• I have read comments from several members opposing the inclusion of women partners participating in the discussions posted on this web-site. I certainly understand and appreciate the rationale behind this opposition. My wife has several questions and concerns regarding the use of pump and incorporating it in our love making. She would like to be able to pose these questions to other women and receive their prospective on these issues. Can anyone refer us to other web sites and/or resources where women can pose questions, express their prospective on the use and practices of vacuum pump by their male partner?

Thank you Paul and all those that contribute to this great web site. Lazy Horse

I have lots of experience with the Osbon pump, so I can respond to a couple of your questions.

I don't lube the tension rings before mounting them on the pump. I lube them after I mount them, so they are easier to handle. Osbon does carry a cone device to help mount them, but I quit using it long ago.

Regarding foreplay and use of the pump, yes, that is what I do. PLENTY of foreplay before pumping up. Most of the time I actually bring my partner to an orgasm with foreplay, and make sure she is fully dilated before pumping up and entering her. This helps solve the girth issue. If I want a smaller girth and less foreplay, I use Trimix injections.

Hope this helps.

I use both a Vitality by Augusta Medical and an Impoaid from Encore and each came with a cone. After using a cone, I would never get a VED system without one. I lube the Osbon, the cone, the base of the cylinder, and my penis prior to entering the cylinder.

I also use a "sex shop" pump and cylinder and slide the Osbon ring down my pumped and lubed erection to maintain it. More recently, Trimix is not always as effective as when I first started. On these days, I use the 85% Trimix induced erection during foreplay and then slide on my Osbon which improves the erection to 99% when we get down to serious business.

I don't believe there is any way to prevent the increase in girth after pumping. They seem to work hand in hand. Even slipping on a tension band seems to increase girth. For me, plenty of lubrication seems to solve the issue.

I am 64 and have used a pump for about 7 years before having an implant, which I am very satisfied with. I tried the pumps using the cones to load the rings. I always thought I was very dexterous, but loading the rings frustrated me to no end. I was recommended the Bonro Vacurect. It was so simple to use and there was no floppiness of the penis once the ring was in place. I would recommend it to anyone. Check it out. It is advertised in the AARP mag. And my wife never complained of the extra girth. Just use a little more lube.

LH,

You asked about this:

• My wife has complained that the pump creates greater girth of the penis and is a discomfort, even at times painful during intercourse. I notice many members mentioning in their postings that increased penis girth is common with the use of the pump. Has anyone found a method or solution to achieving a ridge penis without the additional girth effect?

I have mentioned the use of a penile foam sleeve to restrict girth in this post:

And some demo pics are in this post -- I tried to show how the smaller sleeve restricts girth ..but not sure if it shows clearly. I have noticed my pumped girth HAS increased quite a bit over two years of pumping and the restricted girth is more than it used to be - but it is less than with either just rings or with a larger foam sleeve.

I too am a new pumper, a model from Augusta. I am taking my time, loaded a constriction ring for the first time yesterday. My questions; 1-I pump until there is slight pain, is this wise? 2- as time passes and the tissue in the penis stretches, will less pumping be needed for erections? 3-should one attach the ring after pumping and wear it a while as a step to accustom the penis to the ring?

Thank you!!

Here are my answers to your questions, based upon my experience:

1) In order for me to get a strong erection, I do have to pump up to the edge of my comfort level, but I do it gradually. Then, when my penis reaches full length (I look for a marking on the suction tube), I slide the tension rings off the suction tube and onto the base of my penis. It does hurt a little. I just pretend I'm into BDSM kinks (same with injections-- my partner plays along like she's a dominating nurse).

2) I did not notice that I needed less pumping over time, and I've been doing this for nine years now.

3) I practiced pumping both without and and with using the tension rings. Practice did make perfect.

After pumping for a while, I found that I could pump to full capacity in a much shorter time frame.

You should not wear the tension ring for more than twenty minutes.
