Size of rings?

Postby Al1962 » Wed May 10, 2023 6:52 pm

Yes I have found a few statements here and there.
How are we to choose the correct size? I have tried the typical 3 size pack. The small one about 1" does not seem to really help any more than Sildenafil alone. I measure approximately 4 3/4" or 4.75". I would buy better rings if I could determine size. Amaz variety is no help since size is not uniform or even mention for some brands.
Thank you.

The best rings I've used are the Giddy cock rings. They are rather pricey BUT will send you a different size for free until you've got the best size that fits you. I ended up having them sending me all of the sizes lol. Design is different from a regular cock ring and works very well.

This is in the "Pumps" sub-forum. Are you asking about rings to hold an erection with the use of a VED (pump) or with sildenafil.

Either Sildenafil or a pump. As the Sildenafil becomes less effective I may be pumping with hope. We can just discuss the size of rings when used with a pump.

This could be moved to the "Cock Ring" post. I read through but did not seem to see what I needed.

In my humble opinion, cock rings used to aid a natural erection or one enabled by pills or injections is mostly apples and oranges to rings designed for holding erections produced solely through a pump (VED). That said I have used a few novelty/sex shop rings that worked acceptably with the VED. I even had one I purchased from a "Lions Den" that that wings to aid removal. It was ok, but not great. I guess it depends on haw badly you need the ring to keep your boner. I need a pretty darn tight one to keep a VED produced boner up. Generally a good medical grade ring is needed for use with a VED. Osbon rings are my preferred rings for VED use but they are fairly pricy.

For use as just an aid for a natural, pill induced or injection induced erection I go to the novelty/sex shop rings. If my description of uses fits you then I'd send you back to the "Cock Ring" thread. If you haven't tried some they're a pretty inexpensive aid to try out. But you may get all the responses you need here. The Giddy mentioned by Wolfpacker seems to have it's adherents. I've never tried one of those. I'm still not clear exactly what you're looking for.

Good luck.

If your goal is to use a pump for sex, you should experiment on your own with different rings. I tried different manufacturers and experimented with 1 to 2 rings. Several different types work for me, but 2 Osbons work really well.

Some VED's come with their own rings. The Encore pump I use does. For some men these rings work great.

You didn't indicate what brand of VED you are using. I agree with Bloinks and Anotheroldman. I. as well as both of them. use medical grade Osbon rings and I assume also the Osbon Erecaid VED (although with some effort they can be applied to other manufacturers pumps.) I tried several different pumps, rings and combinations with limited and/or no success until Osbon. I use 2 rings of D size with great success for sex and a cheap store bought pump for exercising. I'm really appreciative to FT for steering me in the right direction. I would have given up long ago if it weren't for this website. Because the rings looked so small, I was hesitant at first, but they can be pretty easily removed with adequate lubrication when finished.

2 Osbon rings load perfectly on my Encore pump. Some other manufacturers' rings do not.

For rings that won't fit two on my Encore, I have used a technique where I use one ring then fold the ears into a pump with a new ring on it. Pumping, then adding the 2nd ring works well. Some guys cut the loops off the 1st ring so all they have to do is make sure the pump is enclosing the 1st ring.

Okay so I am grateful.
A erecaid Size D was mention which is 3/4" or .75" which is smaller than I have tried but I was nervous. For penetration it might be needed. I also need to get serious about an Osbon or Encore VED.
The generic 3 size variety small one was about 1" which was helpful for masturbation but would not have worked for penetration. The larger one would go around penis and testicles and the medium on around just the testes.
Actually with my ex wife it would have been fine as she was not a tight person .

In addition to size - medium (3/4”) and large (7/8), Osbon bands also come in three levels of tension, low, standard, and high.
