Strange and unusual response of my penis to the pump

Postby Halfman » Sat May 07, 2022 4:35 pm

I've been using a VED prior to surgery.
I'm trying to use it at least 20 minutes once a day.
However, i noticed some strange things: the first one is that i need mental stimulation to get an erection. Otherwise i couldn't get one by pumping alone. Only an engorgement. Suffering from both venous and arterial disfunction the pressure created wouldn't be enough and i have to "participate" to increase blood inflow. By doing so i get to stretch my penis which is the most important thing.
But the strangest fact i noticed Is that it's as if my penis got tired. After using the pump 20-25 minutes, get good erections and release i have no option but back off. If i try ti repeat the process during the day i just can't get it up and obtain an erection while pumping. No matter how much i pump, if i take pills before pumping or if i watch porn to help the whole process. My dick simply doesn't seem to be conditioned to pumping anymore.
Then i give it a rest of one or two days, restart pumping and everything comes back to normal.
I've never read anything similar here. Many of you are able to use a Vacuum even 60 minutes daily without concerns. On the contrary i'm stuck and i can get it to work no more than 3-4 times a week.
20 minutes 3-4 times weekly is better than nothing, but i don't understand what's the matter with me.
What could be the problem and what should i do in your opinion?
Thanks for your attention guys.

I don't get the having to wait days to recover. I do get the needing some sort of stimulation or viagra.

It sounds to me like a pump seal or vacuum leak issue. I can use my VED several times a day if I wish but do notice a variation in length at different times...Always get a very strong erection, but without the tension rings snapped on my penis before VED removal, it's goes flaccid as soon as vacuum is released.

I agree with alan810. The vacuum erection device (VED) works on rather simple hydraulic principles. Pressure on the outside of your penis being less than the pressure coming from inside your body should inflate the corpora cavernosum (and engorge the spongiosum) even if you are unconscious.

If the cause is not leakage of the vacuum, I would suspect that something is preventing the blood from your arteries or veins from being able to enter your penile tissues. Either some kink of blockage or the flow is being pinched off. The latter is unlikely without your knowledge, so vacuum leakage is my prime suspect.

You might try doing some aerobic exercise, though, before pumping up. Having substantial blood flow by elevated heart rate and arterial relaxation is bound to help. Both would be provided by 15 to 30 minutes of exercise.

But be absolutely sure you have a good seal around the base of your penis and that the vacuum pump itself does not leak. If you pump up a vacuum, do you have to re-pump every few minutes?

The vascular or anatomical cause could be the most likely given the situation i described.
However, if i had a king preventing my penil tissue to get arterial and venous blood or a kink of blockage i shouldn't be able to achieve an erection at all, no matter if through mental stimulation, pills or whatever. Simply there are days where my penis responses with my cooperation and there are days when i could keep pumping for hour and the only outcom i'd get would be a glans engorgement and a half-filled shaft.
The device works well, i don't have to re-pump after pumping a vacuum and i'm actually able to get a good seal.
At this point i think it's better die than living with such fucked-up penis. That's not even living. It's a daily and relentless nightmare.

I have somewhat similar experiences. I need to stimulate a chubby before placing the VED to achieve my max size in the VED. If I start totally limp I don’t get complete filling during the session even if I stop-start several cycles. It seems like I need to somehow open up a valve naturally to allow the VED to take over and pump to my max size and engorgement. If I start completely limp, I’ll only get a semi maybe 75% full. There’s probably no logical reason for it but that’s been my experience and I’ve been at this pre-surgery conditioning over 9 months. (My Implant surgery was delayed 1 year due to a cardiac event 17 days before my original surgery date)

Halfman, Are you supplementing VED with daily Cialis? If not, I highly recommend trying it. I’m taking 5mg (generic) daily which really helps me with nocturnal erections and also to rally a chubby before VED sessions.

In general, fluid will flow from an area of relatively higher pressure to an area of relatively lower pressure.

While not ruling out anatomical defects, it still sounds as if there is a pump problem of some kind.
I once had a cheaper pump I used for exercises. When it failed I still had some vacuum and it seemed to have a good seal, but I could never get enough vacuum to achieve anything more than a chubby.

It seems to be always easier to pump if I am stimulated or have taken a pill. Otherwise, it just takes longer and takes more pumping, release, and re-pumping to get to the same place.

One speculation is that the base of the VED's cylinder is contributing to a kink or constriction of blood flow into your penis. Do you think that is possible?

As I've mentioned before, my experience partially mirrors that of the OP. If I don't have some sort of arousal, or a Viagra, I have a lot of difficulty pumping. It's like the valves that let in the blood just won't open. A little arousal changes everything. Pumping becomes relatively easy.

However, it has nothing to do with the pump seal. I guess guys that don't have this issue just can't relate to it. But it is real. I guess the good news is that the problem may indicate that the valves seem to be in good shape.

What I can't relate to is the multiple days it takes for the OP to recover to be able to pump again.

First of all, thanks to any of you.
You've been helpful and generous given the time you spent to figure out what's the matter.
I take 5mg Cialis every night and it certainly help when It comes to enter the tube in a semierect or even an erect state. When i use the device starting with a 60-65% erection makes the whole process a lot easier and in a matter of 2 minutes i'm able to get a full erection or at least get very close to it.
I suffer from both arteriogenic and venous dysfunction but for reasons i don't know i haven't lost any size and my aim is to preserve it.
The next month i'll get implanted and my current flaccid stretched lenght is slightly above 18 cm (a bit more than 7 inches). Yesterday i shaved my pelvic area and my VED results got better.
Today i've had an overall 30 minutes session and i've been able to get fully or nearly full erect without particular struggles. I've keept my erect penis in the tube for almost 10 minutes at first. Then i've deflated, re-pumped till a good erection and maintained it in the tube less then 10 minutes, maybe 2 or 3, 'cause i've thought it was enough and i didn't want to go any further and get injured.
I still need mental stimulation to get the VED to work. Without It my results would be poor. However, to me it doesn't matter: as long as i achieve a good erection and keep my penis oxigenated i'm fine.
I'm gonna buy a new lube since the one i've been using is a silicon lube and i'm not comfortable with it.
Thanks again for your kindness and time.
I'll get you updated.
