Safe / Ideal Vacuum Pressure?

Postby SearchingUSA » Sun Mar 27, 2022 10:28 pm

I was implanted two months ago and have recently begun using a VED on the chance that it will help with growth. The pump I'm using is https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07 ... UTF8&psc=1 and it has a mbar pressure display on it. Strangely, I can't seem to find discussion about what the safe or ideal millibar should be for pumping.

When I pumped today, the mbars were measuring between -50 and -75 (depending on how good my seal was), and my shaft and glans gradually became so purple that I stopped after 9 minutes. On one hand, getting purple seems to indicate that the pump was doing its job and bringing in bloodflow. On the other hand, I didn't feel a really noticeable 'stretch' of engorgement, which makes me wonder if I should have had the pressure higher.

Not sure if this matters, but I'm not using any restrictors on my shaft. I'm just putting the VED over my 70% pumped erection and leaving it active for the entire time.

Does anyone have a resource that would help me understand what millibars I should be targeting, and how long is safe at that level if I'm not using a restrictor?

Thanks in advance to my FT family.

Searching USA,
My urologist/surgeon said to NOT exceed 5" of vacuum or approx. 170 millibars. Stopping every ten minutes to allow the blood to return. Also, after you release the vacuum, massage the penis to help with the blood return. 30 to 45 minutes, twice a day. I was not allowed to use the VED until 8 weeks post implant.

That's exactly the type of detail I was hoping to receive and more, thank you very much for sharing. A couple more questions:

1) Would you have your implant pumped to max inflation while using the VED, or did you keep your cycling and VED sessions separate?

2) If you don't mind sharing, what were your before and after measurements? For how many months did you continue these sessions before you stopped seeing improvement and discontinued?

#1 Yes and No...sometimes I pump and sometimes I don't. Get's the blood flowing.
#2 I'm almost 3 years post-op and still pump. As for improvement?, it's been noted here that a healthy penis has good blood flow. I did gain girth with the implant. As for length... heck I'm 75 and size really doesn't matter any more but hardness does!

Did you have to work up to 10 minute sessions and 30 to 45 minutes twice a day? My dick turns a frightening shade of dark purple within minutes, and at 5 minutes it looks nearly black and I tap out. I managed to get to 10 minutes the other day, but it was very uncomfortable the entire time and I had no interest in going for more rounds.

Yes I did have to gradually work at it. Especially for men who have had ED for some time.
Suggestions,
Warm the penis by wrapping very warm wash clothes around the penis, rewarm frequently. Do this prior to starting the VED session.
Start with a lower vacuum, 2-3" to start.
Stop often and massage the penis and use more warm wash clothes.

Has anyone else gotten specific information on how much suction to use, and for what periods of use, release, and repeat? I have been doing 5 minute sessions at 250-300 mbar several times a day, as I only have one month until surgery. Thank you for any input!

Here is some more detail, which I have copied from the Names and Faces section:

Thank you. I am pumping two or three times a day, each time two five-minute sessions. I have found that allowing a little rest between two, five-minute sessions reduces the chanes of edema.
Does your VED have a vacuum gauge?
Yes, I have a couple with them, after having to get larger pumps a few times due to increased girth from continued pumping (and length in that some have nasty plastic protruding from the inside).

I had a pump with 8 levels of vacuum for better granularity, but it failed and they replaced it with one with only four levels. When I set it to the 3rd of 4 levels, it begins at 280mbar and doesn't pump again until it reaches 200mbar. (1mbar=0.1kpa)

My other pump with a gauge that still fits goes to -35kPa at its lowest setting, and is very good at keeping that consistently vacuum. Unfortunately, it does not have a timer, so I go until my dick hits the end and pushes on the mechanism.

I have seen in the literature that 5 Hg suction is recommended, which is just 170mbar. That amount of suction doesn't ever get me to my full potential. 200mbar=5.9 hg, 280mbar=8.3 hg, and -35kPa=10.3 hg, which is double what I have seen recommended.

Best regards,
Kevin

Kevin,

Similar to you, I find anything under 250 unhelpful. I usually pump to 280-300mbar and then either take the pump hose off and hold it there (usually twice per session), or let it naturally come down to about 100 and then restart the pump and bring it back up (several times per session). Right now, I’m doing one session a day. My pump is from Mr S Leather, but the same as LA Pump.
