Augusta Medical Pump - Pain Ouch!

Postby Worried Guy » Mon Aug 24, 2009 11:40 am

I'm one month after Robotic surgery. I got the Augusta Medical Response II VED and tried using it a couple of times just for therapy.
The result is a painful, semi hard-on. Also with my incontinence, I end up leaking urine into the tube.
Am I doing this too early after surgery? Should I wait a bit or is this to be expected?

One month is pretty early in my book. I think at this point if you simply get a bit of extra blood flow going, you are doing yourself a huge service. I wouldn't even try for an erection at this point. Pump it up gently just to get things plumped up a bit and let it go. I would think 6-8 weeks out is when you can start pushing it a little bit...but even then, take it easy. You are wise to get things going at a slow level though. You will probably not suffer any atrophy with such an aggressive regime!

What was the most painful aspect of the experience? As you know, it is NOT an erotic sensation. Did you trim the pubes? balls get sucked up into it? What hurt?

Being 1 month post-rp may be pushing things. When I use my pump, it is uncomfortable to many degrees...position, suction, state of junior.

If I was you, I'd take it easy at this point. If you are detemined, ask your doc. Yes, there is some pain. Only your doc can advise you properly. I got a different pump. Keeping the pubic hairs at crew cut is best. Improves suction and mechanical coupling (ie: reduces air leakage). Use the lube or KY. It does make a difference. Even putting a bit of KY on the unit (your unit) before insertion and suction, improves therapy, IMO.

Good luck and may you have a positive 28 mmg experience.
Age 54.

I tried it again today and it does not feel good that's for sure. Even with the smallest rubber seal if I am not careful, it sucks a bit of my scrotum inside. I am only getting a little bit of enlargement. I find that my bladder continues to drain into the tube. I guess I should just be patient and wait a bit. I am just trying not to let it atrophy. It's already shorter than Ken Lay's last Enron Stock trade.
I used KY jelly the first couple of times but today I tried shaving cream. That seemed to work and is a lot cheaper than KY. I don't think it hurts the rubber since it's just soap. Right?

Hi Worried,

First several times for me were pretty uncomfortable, without much result. But, I was determined and carried on. Maybe the QA dept. was on coffee break when they packed mine...I didn't get a rubber seal for junior's end...just the hard end of the plastic tube. The only extras I got was a bag of various sized rubber things with a hole in the middle and two handles...they work great on my slingshot. Haven't used those for their intended purpose, yet.

Took me a while to find the right part of my anatomy to get a good seal. Oh yeah, I did get a bottle of something called "slippery stuff" multi-purpose, all-encompassing, water soluble, glycerin-free, personal lubricant. Really helps with getting a good VED seal and even fixed the squeak in my office door at home. Haven't tried shaving cream for the VED or the door.

You're not far out from surgery and if you're that determined, I'd be inclined to call the doc and discuss with him. My doc told me not to try anything until a few weeks after catheter removal. And then, only in moderation.

Don't get discouraged. I was VERY discouraged early on. It took me a bit before I started seeing results.

Good Luck

Broken Arrow ,
It takes a real man to use that thing without the rubber seals. My tube is 8" inches long and 2 1/2" in diameter. That's about 6 extra inches of wishful thinking and a diameter big enough to suck in my left leg. Even with both rings in place it still tries to slurp up my scrotum. Believe me that is not as erotic as it sounds! I will call Augusta and see if they have something smaller. Hey, I'm not proud. (Not any more, that's for sure!)
I feel like I'm a testimonial for those junk weight loss ads on late night TV: "I lost 4 full inches using the DaVinci Prostate Program." "Yours, for only $14,999". And if you act now we'll throw in a box of Depends to get you started on our Constant Dribble Method for weight loss through continuous water expulsion."
I have not tried lubing anything else with the grease. I'm sure NASA must have some application for it. I must say, it does wash off easily.
For the next week or so, I will just take it easy and not rush things. Most important for me now is to get continent.

ya know, I just gotta chime in here and say that you need to take a look at the old cheap penis pump. I use this one from the local sex shop:
http://www.vitadigest.com/fireman-pump.html

It has a rubber cuff and a short sleeve that goes around your cock and forms a nice tight seal. Nothing ever goes up the tube. It is painless - except for the usual inflation of the cock feeling which can be painful if you overdo things. i use this in the shower and use soap to lube things up. It is a wash and pump in one simple operation!!

This is NOT for an erection for intercourse. It is for therapy only. I leave it hanging - fully pumped - for the ten minutes it takes me to shower up. Then take it off, rinse it out, and I'm ready to go. It enlarges, engorges and gets the blood going. It also makes you look like a stud in the bathroom mirror! This is what should be used for therapy. I swear, those big things with the giant opening will suck up everything in its path!. I imagine there a a few lucky guys who need all that girth, but as we know, immediately after surgery, girth is the least of our problems.

I paid $30 for mine, but this online deal is great. It works fine, it gets the job done and is perfectly safe.

That sounds like a great deal. I'd much rather go to a shop and buy one rather than giving those guys my credit card on line. That's probably not fair but ...
I might try to get one at a local shop just to check it out - now that I know what I'm looking for.
So, tell me again why the medical ones cost $450? And we think this billing system makes sense? Yikes.
Thanks!

And while you're in the sex shop buying a new pump, buy something fun to add a bit of fun to the sex. It's amazing how much we get into a rut as we get older. Yeah, it's nice, it's comfortable, it's safe - take this time to explore things you've never thought about before. Nothing is too kinky or weird. pretend you're a teenager again! LOL

From an earlier post:

Well I called Augusta and spoke with the sweetest Georgia Peach you ever did hear. Got that cute accent that turns us Yankees on (if we had the equipment to be turned on, that is. )
The pump is registered to me so all I had to do was give my phone number and she knew exactly what was supplied. Full specs on the device . She said I should keep the sizes I have now and to not go smaller. The trick is to put the space age lube around the top and sides but not on the bottom of my hardware. That way it would not get sucked in.
Well, she was absolutely right. After a few minutes I had to take off the smallest insert and go to the standard one! Hurray for me. Except, In my opinion it's still as useless as tits on a bull. Time will tell.
