VED pumping newbie question around improved penis health

Postby Magic Rat » Tue Jan 11, 2022 2:57 pm

Greeting to all on the forum. Newbie here. This appears to be a great resource for ED sufferers.

Profile: I am a single straight male in my early 50s, with no serious health issues that I know of (eg - diabetes, heart condition, etc), outside of an extra 25 lbs that I could lose. Sex drive is likely above average for my age, although sex drive is a relative concept. I quit smoking 10 years ago but do drink, beer and wine. I could also be in better shape than I am, and would benefit from working out.

I was diagnosed with ED at age 30 (mostly from stress and smoking). I have managed it since then (more than 22 years) with an ever-increasing regimen of PDE5s. First 25 mg Viagra on demand, then graduating to 50 mg, then 20 mg Levitra, and up until recently a regimen of 5 mg daily Cialis along with 20 mg Levitra on demand when needed for sex. I have also gone through 3 courses of shockwave therapy, once per year the past 3 years - which did help as it improves endothelial function. Shockwave therapy did provide results for me (using the Medispec shockwave device, not the Gainswave acoustic device, which does not work nearly as well if at all).

I have never tried Trimix and did not pump. Up until recently, I have consistently gotten passable (although not great) morning wood, and overall, my performance was acceptable/solid (but I'm not 25 anymore). The PDE5 approach seemed to be working well until the beginning of November when I had a 'failure' with a woman. I lost my erection in the middle of foreplay and had trouble getting it back. She was understanding and helped me complete things via hand and mouth (I did end up getting it back for a few minutes eventually....she was a trooper and did work really hard lol).

The last two months have seen a tangible downturn in performance: my glans is smaller and softer, sensation is diminished, erections are not as stable or last as long even on max PDE5s, my morning wood is down to a short 5-10 minute erection only if I self-stimulate a little bit. Things have definitely felt different the past 8 weeks. Venous leak has been a factor since I was diagnosed, and it appears it has worsened over the past 2 months.

So....in addition to now considering the use of Trimix, I am looking to embark on a pumping regimen to improve my penis health - I'm not necessarily looking to increase length or girth (I'm 6.5" and thick when erect), although that would be nice. I just purchased this model: https://www.amazon.com/Encore-Deluxe-Va ... op?ie=UTF8. It should arrive shortly.

Question 1:

As I understand it, the pumping regimen to provide the regular oxygenation of penile tissues that I am no longer getting would be as follows:

- Pump the unit until 1/4 erect, then release pressure
- Pump until 1/3 erect, then release pressure
- Pump until 1/2 erect, then release pressure
- Pump until 3/4 erect, then release pressure
- Pump until fully erect, then release pressure
- Rinse and repeat daily for 30 minutes
I am not looking to use the VED device for sex, so no need for the constriction rings.

Is the above regimen accurate? Would I benefit even more with 2x30 minutes per day?

Question 2:

I would like to hear from regular pumpers. Has an extended course of pumping (eg - weeks, months) improved your overall ability to get an erection, and your penis health? has it improved sensation? Morning wood? Would like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks in advance, and looking forward to contributing to this forum on a regular basis.

I’m a month in to my pumping program. I’m doing 2 ten minute sessions per day more or less as you’ve described I.e. varying the amount of vacuum. I’ve started skipping the therapy on days I want to have sex as I’m finding it creates some numbness. I am also doing traction so I can’t ascribe my results solely to pumping. My hunch ( sorry to be imprecise) is that traction works for length, while vacuum is better for girth. All gains however are temporary and quickly reverse when you cease the therapy. Based on some of the sensitivity issues I’ve now introduced periodic rest days to see if that promotes a better overall cycle. At a month in my gains are about 1/2 inch in length and some noticeable, albeit unmeasurable, girth. Unfortunately I’ve not had any noticeable reduction in the peyroines curve. Good luck.

Thanks Musson.

Apart from the temporary loss of sensation right after pumping, have you noticed any improvement in morning wood, etc? Or is it too soon to tell?

Hello Magic Rat:
Why wouldn't you want to use the penis pump to ehance sex ? I had a prostatectomy in 2017. I only just recently got a natural erection and had normal PIV sex.

In between, with total ED, the pump has saved the day. And I have become able to have multiple orgasms. Meaning I can come and build again to orgasm, many times. I wouldn't want to miss that so I pump. It is a role reversal : my wife goes longer to give me a treat when usually it is the other way around, eh? (Book that type of encounter ahead for best results.)

Frankly, when I was young, wild and crazy I would have been pissed if someone suggested a pump. Now, I wish I had know about them back in the day. I could have gone and gone even more than I did.

Magic, I can’t notice any difference with mornings erections at this point. I will say there is less turtling and shrinkage when limp. I’ve always been a grower but since I’ve started pumping there seems to be “more meat in the meat” to coin a new phrase. In other words my dick is heavier and more substantial when flaccid.

Thanks for your reply - it's mostly that the constriction ring really feels uncomfortable to me when having sex. It's almost like I'm being choked....and not in a good way ;-)

I use one of these. Reduces discomfort applying rings(that sudden snap), discomfort during sex, and helps removing rings afterwards.

For me the sleeve reduces any discomfort to a lower level. Makes it much easier to ignore any discomfort and enjoy my wife's responses to my extra firm dick.
Married 50+ years. Use VED for sex and do
daily exercises with both water and vacuum pumps.

Anyone else want to share their experience with a pumping regimen that has helped their overall penile health/baseline function?

I have posted previously in 'My Pump Result, and yours?' if you like to check it out. I have a cheap VED w/no gauge, and I use the Blue Ultimate Rings. There are a lot of different type of rings/bands out there, so with experimentation the choice is yours as to what works best for you. The following is 'my' pumping times, you can develop what works for you. I care more about my penile health, not size, so this is my routine.

I pump 3x a week (M-W-W), once each day.
I do 4-5 sets of 5 minutes for each set.

Set 1: I pump up slowly allowing 12-15 seconds between 2 manual pumps (mine). I pump to 90% of my BPEL. for 5 minutes.
Rest: I release the pump vacuum a little at a time, pausing 5-10 seconds after each release until all the vacuum has been expelled. I then remove the hose from the cylinder and work the cylinder on and off my penis (to initiate blood flow/exchange) for 1 minute before going to set #2.

Set 2: I repeat Set 1 pumping procedure again, this time pumping to my BPEL. for 5 minutes
Rest: Same as before.

Set 3: I repeat the pumping procedure again, this time pumping to approximately 1/4" over of my BPEL. for 5 minutes.
Rest: Same as before.

Set 4: I repeat the pumping procedure again, this time pumping to approximately 3/8" over of my BPEL. for 5 minutes.
Rest: Same as before.

Set 5: I repeat the pumping procedure again, this time pumping to 3/8" again, or 1/2" over of my BPEL. for 5 minutes.
Rest: Same as before.

Again, this is my routine. I go slow on the 'pump up' and slow on the 'release'. I haven't experience petechia, or water blistering (donut) yet, and I don't want to, that's the reason for going slow. Your dick doesn't get instantly hard, and it doesn't deflate in one second normally either, why would you want it to here!

I hope this helps some of you, but it's NOT meant for enlargement, although I think you'll find over time that it will increase your girth some. Don't we have enough problems with our penis health, why else would we be here, don't make it worse. Do your own research and develop your own plan if this one's not for you, no one plan will fit everyone, but at least get informed on what works and what you should avoid. One piece of advice I offer from reading numerous posts here, and on other sites, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM JELGING, it never ends well!
