Help with VED

Postby tobenormalagain » Thu Dec 23, 2021 10:08 pm

I have made several posts here but in summary, I am a 55yo man; no hypertension, no diabetes, no penile injuries, and varying degrees of ED X 20 years. I've tried injections (got Peyronie's), Viagra, Cialis, and now, a VED. I was sooooo hoping to avoid the pain, inconvenience, loss, and cost of an implant even though I have an appt with an implant MD in January. I am using a VED daily, always achieve a rock hard erection and was thinking that perhaps a it would be my salvation. Last night, in preparation for sex with my wife, I took Cialis and after using my VED for 30 mins and then deploying 2 rings, I was left with a less than desirable hard on and no sensation at all=no orgasm. A huge disappointment to say the least. Two questions, I was orally pleasuring the wife and we didn't begin intercourse for about 20 mins into our time together. Did I wait too long? Would sensation have been better if I had started penetration immediately after deploying the rings? Lastly, since I can get a good erection when I work at it, is there hope of avoiding an implant or is this a Bandaid approach?

You wore the constriction ring for too long a time after pumping up. You need to do your foreplay before pumping and rings. I'm sorry but that's the way it is. After pumping up you should not wear the constriction rings for more than 20 minutes or at the very most 30 minutes. Again, I'm sorry but that's the way it is. Otherwise you'll damage your dick. And yes, after 20 minutes or so you start to quickly lose sensation. It would be better to remove the rings, give your dick a few minutes to recover on fresh blood and then repeat. But ask your doctor before you do that.

As for your specific questions that would be:

Yes, yes and I don't know.

Good luck.

I can get a good erection when I work at it

I never pump and apply rings until it's time for penetration. It takes some work and experimentation with your partner to find a way that works for both of you. Pumping and applying ring(s) before foreplay greatly reduces the time for actual penetrative sex. We find that while I am pumping she can use a toy or two to not only stay in the mood but to advance her response to the point she is more than ready.

It also takes time and experimenting by yourself to find the best ring or rings for you. It can be like Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This one is too loose, this one is too tight, etc. If you can get an erection on your own maybe you don't need 2 rings?

How is the water pump working for you?

In my opinion you waited too long to pump and apply ring/s/. Everything I've read limits wearing the ring to a maximum of 30 minutes. I found it best to take care of my wife first, then pump up and immediately apply the rings and remove the VED. It also takes experimenting (trial and error) to come up with the correct ring or rings and the timing that works best in your situation.

Thank you all that responded for the great advice. I know that’s the way it is; foreplay, VED, intercourse, but isn’t this interruption and lack of spontaneity a total mood killer? If I were the women (even a loving, supportive, and understanding one), I think I would be inclined to just say “forget it” At that point, is the juice really worth the squeeze?

1 - A loving, supportive, and understanding lady wants to please her man regardless.
2 - One thing you could do is make sure the ring is already on the pump to minimize the delay. That way it pretty much takes about the same amount of time to put on a condom.

I preload 2 tension rings on the VED and lubricate the inside of the tube. It takes all of about a minute or two to pump and position the rings and you're good to go. Your other half can be playing or teasing you while transitioning. Also, unless she objects, you have have a porn flix running to keep the interest up and/or she can use a vibrator or toy.

That may well be the case in a lot of circumstances.
I can only speak from our personal experience.
We schedule our sex. Twice a week on the agreed upon days we will have sex
Turns out spontaneity is not all it's cracked up to be, at least for us.
As long as what we are doing results in fulfilling, multi orgasmic sex. she remains an enthusiastic partner and a sexual innovator.
For us, at this point in our journey together, turns out comfort and fulfilling results beats spontaneity.
