So who's gone over the speed, um time limit? LOL. I like my new medical-grade vacuum pump, but I wonder if I'll eventually feel restricted by the universal advice by the medical community to not have sex for more than 30 minutes while wearing the constriction band.

Has anybody exceeded the time limit by just a few minutes? I'd hate for myself or my lady to be almost there but then I have to call a timeout because the clock is about to run out. Has anyone here been in that situation?

When relying on the pump and medical grade constriction ring alone I must use a pretty doggone tight ring to keep it up. In those cases the 30 min would be the absolute max time if for no other reason as it gets too uncomfortable. I have removed the ring and allowed my dick a little recovery period and then repumped and reapplied the ring for another go. When removing the ring I deflate immediately even when taking a Viagra. The pill does make pumping a lot easier.

That is a limitation of VED's and constriction rings. There are ways to work with/around the limitation. I think each couple can come up with solutions that work for them.

That said, we can usually tell after 10 to 15 minutes if things aren't "progressing". Most of the time pulling out, taking rings off, reloading, and repumping, works great. There are many toys that can be employed during that time and during sex after repumping. Adding light(?) bondage and/or oral can work. Sometimes a new position is all she needs.

When re-pumping I have found putting one ring on one pump and another on my "backup" pump, pumping up and applying the first ring, then using the second pump by making sure the tabs of the 1st ring are inside the 2nd pump before pumping, results in an even stiffer and longer erection.

With a willing and loving partner, I think a mutually satisfying solution can be reached. Coming up with ways to increase her enjoyment over our years together has been a real turn-on.

Just to answer the question directly - I've gone over plenty of times with no issues. I think mostly it has to do with your comfort level - 30 mins being the guidelines seems kind of arbitrary imo but that's just me. Been using the pump for 30 years (T-12 para) with no bad side effects. That metioned, I don't have full sensation - that's why I think its more of a comfort thing. GL

Thanks for the great comments, guys. I had been practicing with the vacuum pump, but last night was the first time we actually attempted sex. I didn't orgasm, but it was still fun. I'm going to use the pump to get ready for masturbation tonight and see how that goes. I did notice last night that oral sex performed on me by my wife felt different. It seemed that the head of my penis was less sensitive than it would normally be. There seemed to be some numbness. Could I have pumped too hard or too long to create the erection? Also, I'm wearing a medical-grade constriction band in a large size and it is tight as hell. Should I experiment with an XL? All a part of the process, I guess. I'm eligible for a penile implant through Medicare shortly but I want to give pumping a real hard look first.

I think that what you have to look out for if going over the 30 minutes. Is your penis going a very dark colour and it getting very cold. These are the dangerous signs that you need to let the old blood out and hopefully with fingers crossed be able to draw new fresh blood in with the pump.

Ive went up to an hr not paying attention to time cause i was busy and seen it was an hr, penis was fine and a little cold so i took it off and was fine ( when i was done). Like he said, keep an eye on cold and turning color, give it fresh blood, you dont want to start the tissue degeneration by leaving on too long.just keep an eye on you'll be fine.
