Is a gauge needed?
Is a gauge needed?
I'm about to purchase a pump, some have gauges, do you really need one?
Re: Is a gauge needed?
Do NOT waste your money. I bought and tried two and found they did nothing. My condition was complete impotence from radical cystectomy/radical prostatectomy.
I just had penile implant Surgery in January done by Dr. Jean Francois Eid in NYC - known world wide for his pioneering "No touch" technique. I learned much from him, one of which is that there is nothing that exists that can make you penis longer or larger. The other thing I learned is that Trimix often causes scarring - a self induced Peyronies, if you will. So you may give intraurethral Muse a try.
Now I use Alprostadil (Muse) with the implant and I feel like a Ferrari.

That’s strange because after five years of using a penis pump and an extender, I had successfully increased my erect length over 3/4” and my girth over1”. However, It did nothing for my ED.
If you are pumping for enhancement and/or therapy, a vacuume gauge should be used to prevent bruising and injury. If you are pumping to generate an erection to be maintained by a constriction band for sex, you do not need a vacuum gauge.
I have been pumping for about ten years for both enhancement and ED so I feel I am fairly knowledgeable on the subject.

I don't think those devices are capable of producing enough underpressure to deal any harm, so what's the point then?

Re: Is a gauge needed?
I have never used a pump with a gauge. I can tell by experience and 'feel' when it is enough. Also can tell by how far up the transparent tube the end goes; also when the perimeter touches the inner walls of the tube, that is about enough. Learned early on not to over pump, and now avoid any small blood vessel pops.

When using an air pump system, you can reach acumen levels of up to 100 lbs of mercury (hg) if you get over zelious. 10 minutes at 15 hg can result in burst capillaries and bruising. Longer and higher levels can result in blisters.
Retexan has learned by feel and is careful enough not to be tempted to go higher, but not everyone has that self restraint. There are also pumping exercises that are based on alternating between different levels of vacuum such as 3 minutes at 5 hg and 30 seconds at 2 hg which work well with a vacuum gauge.

I don't have a gauge but I'm careful about over pumping. Until you learn your limits you need to minimize vacuum periods and check for signs of excessive vacuum often. And yeah, they do seem to maintain penis health.

Hi 2 years now using a VED without gauge, you can feel when you have pumped enough, and i know that with VED and hand traction you can get a bigger penis. i would think a inch in lengthand girth is possible with daily sessions, a lot bigger just after a VED session.
72 yo England, ED 2011, PD 2015, VED & hand massage, given me a big fatter penis, , love the old wild west stories. fav song, "A day in the life" - Beatles.
Re: Is a gauge needed?
I have a pos-t-vac VED which is touted to be 'medical grade' and does not have a gauge. Been using it for a couple years. As the others have said,
take your time and slowly work up time used and amount of vacuum. Be sensible, just as you would gently enter an exercise program such as weight lifting.

Re: Is a gauge needed?
I used a vaccum pump from CA and it says to stay below 10 inches of Hg , I found pumping too long my cock got stuck on the tube , had to get a larger diameter tube, but I did gain some length and girth also
